Tasting Note: Nose: Full-bodied with a strong cask influence after 18 years, offering rich butterscotch, vanilla, and caramel, along with hints of toasted oak. Palate: Robust, with sweet caramel and toffee fruits, balanced by a touch of peat smoke and subtle saltiness in the background. This peated whisky matured in five first-fill ex-bourbon barrels for 14 years (Cask Nos. 403, 422, 498, 750 & 800 / 2010). Only a total of 1,120 bottles were released worldwide.
Tasting Note: Nose: Soft and full-bodied with rich caramel and toffee, complemented by hints of lemon zest and subtle peat smoke. Palate: Lush and smooth, with sweet toffee and vanilla, followed by lemon curd notes and a light, integrated peat smoke. This bottle has been bottled exclusively for Japan Jardine Matheson & co., (Japan) Ltd. We estimate this to be a bottling from the late 1970s.
Given the date of the bottling, we expect a major component of this whisky to be Lagavulin.

Released in August 2012, this whisky has been matured in traditional oak whisky casks and then ‘finished’ in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. To create the ideal finish Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums and when he judged the casks to be ready, the rum was replaced with the aged spirit and the wood was put to work adding the final touches. The result is the traditional smooth, honeyed character of The Balvenie married with notes of toffee and a hint of fruit, with a warm, lingering finish. Nose: Rich, sweet and creamy toffee on the nose combines with fresh fruit notes Palate: Rounded with vanilla and sweet oak notes, with a fruity character that develops with time Finish: Soft and lingering

Nose: sweet fruits, vanilla, oak with smoke and maritime notes Palate: very creamy and oily mouth feel with grapefruits, passion fruit, caramel and more red fruits Finish: wonderful balance of salty smoke and subtle sweetness of some dark fruits perhaps coming from the refill sherry cask with a dry and long finish.
