Ballantine's

Tracing it history back to 1827 when George Ballantine a son of a farmer established his grocery store in Edinburgh, the blended whisky brand was launched with the same name around 1865 (along with the expansion of the grocery business into Glasgow), primarily to be sold at their grocery stores. Around 1895 George Ballantine & Son was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria. Ballantine’s Finest was then launched in 1910 and eventually became the brand’s flagship blend. Miltonduff and Glenburgie continue to be some of the key malts in the Ballantine range and Ballantine's is currently owned by Pernod Ricard within their Chivas Brothers portfolio.
