This double oaked Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Woodford Reserve delivers a rich, soft and sweet vanilla and caramel notes balanced with some oak. Matured in charred oak barrels first like the classic Woodford Reserve, this is then finished in a second oak barrel  (new heavily toasted, lightly charred barrel). An awarded Bourbon. Color: Deep Amber Nose: Rich notes of dark fruit, caramel, sharp honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak. Palate: A full-bodied mix of vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple, fruit and spices. Nose: Heavy with rich dried fruit, hints of mint and oranges covered with a dusting of cocoa. Faint vanilla and tobacco spice. Palate: Rich, chewy, rounded and smooth, with complex citrus, cinnamon and cocoa. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound.
Finish: Silky smooth, almost creamy at first with a long, warm satisfying tail.

This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been made using a mashbill of 70% corn, 15% distillers malt and 15% chocolate malted rye (essentially a malted rye that has been heavily roasted, leading to its natural sugars to be caramelised to deliver dark chocolate like flavours). This unique kentucky straight malt whiskey has a soft, sweet, nutty character. Unlike a typical 100% malt whiskey, this whiskey is crafted from 51% malt and aged in new charred oak barrels, making it similar to bourbon and provides a new experience for bourbon drinkers. Color: Warm Umber Nose: Soft nutty notes drizzled with light caramel and milk chocolate coat a layer of fruit character (apple, dried fruit, tropical fruit). Hints of brown spice, savory mint and brown sugar mingle with a rich note of freshly milled toasted oak Palate: Dark chocolate and caramel coated nuts are dried out with a dusting of cocoa powder and brown spice. Using  a pre-prohibition style mix of 53% rye in its mashbill to offer spice and tobacco notes along with fruity, floral, and sweet aromatic flavours. A very well balanced Whiskey.
