This single malt Indian whisky from Amrut Distillery in Bangalore was specially selected by Master Distiller Ashok Chokalingam and independently bottled by Blackadder to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Bottled in 2025 as cask BA2025-01, only 125 bottles were released.  

Embodying the spirit of Blackadder’s Raw Cask series, this release remains unfiltered to preserve the natural cask sediments for maximum authenticity. Bottled at a powerful cask strength of 63.6% ABV, it is non-chill-filtered, uncoloured, and retains natural cask particles for a richly oily texture.

Finished in "Orange "(Naarangi in Hindi) Sherry Casks. Amrut procured Oloroso Sherry in the Casks from Spain which were then infused with fresh orange peels for over two years after which the sherry was emptied and then filled with Amrut Single Malt for further maturation.  The noticeable citrus flavours alongside the traditional sherry notes make this Single Malt quite special.

Released as a part of the Zodiac Series from the Paul John Distillery in India, the Mithuna is the Indian counterpart of 3rd Zodiac Sign Gemini. Unpeated and non chill-filtered, the Mithuna has been matured in American virgin oak casks and finished in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at an impressive 58% ABV.

Nose: Some liquorice along with beeswax and vanilla Palate: Rich mouth feel of coffee mocha, orange peel and spices Finish: A sweet honeyed finish lingers in the mouth along with oak tannins.

Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks (as we understand, for two years after five years in first fill ex-Bourbon casks), this Single Malt is a release from Paul John under their Select Cask series. Nose: Peach, apricot and light notes of caramel and blood orange Palate: Soft and sweet, with nutty chocolate and Melton Hunt fruit cake Finish: Intense and sweet with spices, some coffee mocha and dark chocolate.

An unpeated Single Malt from Paul John distilleries in India matured in (reportedly) second fill and third fill bourbon barrels and which can be enjoyed with a splash of water or on the rocks. Nose: honeycomb with some fruitcake and caramel pudding Palate: Malty cereals with honey Finish: some vanilla balanced with honey and oak notes.

This is Batch 3 released in June 2017 and is a vatting of whiskies distilled from scottish peated barley and matured in a bourbon cask #3189 filled in May 2012 and one port pipe cask #2715 filled in March 2012 and hence "Double Cask". Nose: rich honey, some floral notes along with a variety of fruits and some oak Palate: Tropical fruits with some lime and subtle spices Finish:  Fruity with delicate oak, cinnamon with a hint of pepper. 

This was a limited release of 1050 bottles.

Reportedly peated at about 24 ppm, this is the peated version of the flagship Indian single malt from Amrut Distillery. Nose: Sweet peat smoke, some bacon and hint of citrus Palate: Fruits and cereals, some toffee sweetness and subtle smoke Finish: Medium smoke with some black tea and some vanilla aftertaste.

The flagship Indian single malt from Amrut Distillery is distilled from barley harvested from fields close to the Himalayas in India and is supposedly a vatting of various cask maturation including Ex-bourbon Barrels & PX-Sherry Butts. Nose: burnt honeycomb and toffee with some liquorice Palate: Rich with fruits, spices and barley-oak sweetness Finish: Long with layered oak spices along with cream toffee.

Named after a town on the east coast of India (called Portonova, located on the east coast of India in the Southern State of Tamil Nadu and was co-incidentally also under Portugese control between the 16th and 18th century), this un-peated single malt whisky has been matured in new American oak and ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to once-used port pipes especially imported from Portugal and finally back to ex-bourbon casks. Nose: Fruity sweetness and caramel, burnt apple pie Palate: Spicy and fruity flavor mixed with caramel and oaky saltiness. Finish: Long and fruity with hints of berry fruits.

'Kadhambam' means "combination" or "mixture" in the Tamil language (one of the many Indian languages and spoken in the state of Tamil Nadu, Southern India). Amrut Kadhambam was matured in three different cask types - Rum, Sherry, and Brandy, which delivers a combination of the aroma and notes from these three barrels. Nose: Rich and floral, honeyed, nutty, new oak, vanilla, tropical fruity aromas Palate: Candied fruits, subtle oak with a light dusting of peat and integrated spice Finish: Warm and complex with a dry and long finish (Tasting Notes from the distillery). This is the 2017 Release.

Matured for 7 years in first fill American white oak casks, this Indian Single Malt Whisky has been distilled from 100% Himalayan six-row barley, bottled at 50% and released in 2017. "Its delectable aromas of citrusy spice and tropical fruit lures you to savour its creamy, butterscotch sweetness.  With complexities and an exquisitely balanced dryness, this is perhaps one of the softest Indian whiskies ever to be bottled" - From the Distillery. 

Nose: Light citrus with manuka honey arrives infused with ripe peach, apricot and vanilla. Palate: Rich mouth feel, sweet butterscotch. Finish: Warm spices reminiscent of toasted oak, and a hint of saltiness.

Released to celebrate Amrut Distillery Chairman, Mr. Neel Jagdale's 60th birthday, only 1350 bottles were released in 2017 (this is the second release). This was the oldest age statement at the time of its release and is part of the Greedy Angel's Series of bottlings (with later releases including a10 year and a 12 year old). Distilled using a mix of unpeated Indian barley and peated Scottish barley, this is a special bottling indeed. Tropical fruits with hints of oak combined with sweet malt and vanilla.
