Ardmore Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardmore distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, in the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher, it was originally established to supply whisky for the Teacher’s blended Scotch, of which it remains a key component. Ardmore was the second-last distillery to retain coal fires under its stills, a process that contributed to its unique character until the shift to steam heating in 2001. Known for its medium-peated, woodsmoke Highland style, Ardmore stands apart from many other Highland distilleries. The distillery is now owned by Suntory Global Spirits.

"Tamashii" is Soul  or Spirit in Japanese. Bottled by Mizunara for its 4th anniversary, matured in refill bourbon barrel. Subtle peat smoke, charcoal ash & earthy notes combined with sweet vanilla, honey, citrus and fresh tropical fruits like banana. Vanilla sweetness combined with a saltiness that finally gives way to peppery notes and spices such as cloves and hints of dark chocolate. Nice long and complex finish.
