Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Talisker Distillery is one of the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, it is set on the shores of Loch Harport Carbost, with dramatic views of the Cuillins, Scotland. Producing a sweet, full-bodied single malt.

The distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. All the stills use worm tubs (condensing coils) rather than a modern condenser, which are believed to give the whisky a "fuller" flavour. During this early period, the whisky was produced using a triple distilling method, but changed to the more conventional double distilling in 1928. Talisker was acquired by Distillery Company in 1925 and is now part of Diageo.

Introduced in early 2015, this release is named after the island on which the distillery us located. A more rounded Single Malt it is reportedly matured in a variety of casks with a larger proportion of toasted American Oak casks giving it a sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus and sweet smoke making it a very approachable Whisky, yet with the traditional character of the distillery.

Caramel aromas and sweetness from the rum cask finish balanced by sea salt, dry seaweed layered on a smoky barbecue as the base with the classic Talisker chilli pepper, smoke and dry finish.
