Cardhu

Starting its life as an illicit distillery itself in 1811, Cardow's (renamed as Cardhu) founder Helen Cumming also has the reputation of warning fellow moonshiners in Glen Livet of approaching revenue officials by hoisting a red flag on her farm. In 1872, daughter in law Elizabeth Cumming took over the operations of the Distillery. Cardhu has long been a favourite in blends but was also available as a Single malt since 1888.
