Hazelburn

Hazelburn is produced by/at the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown and is their non-peated/triple distilled whisky and was first produced in 1997. The first release at the age of 8 years was in 2005. The barley is spread across traditional malting floors at Springbank where it germinates and is then dried by hot air on the perforated floor of the malt kiln without the use of any pear. The name Hazelburn is a homage to Hazelburn Distillery, one of the many lost distilleries in Campbeltown which was one of the largest at that time and operated from 1825 until 1925. 
This is the 2021 release of the popular Hazelburn 10 Years Old from Springbank. The first release in 2014 got 90 points in Whiskyfun. Using Springbank's triple distilled unpeated spirit and matured in Bourbon cask for 10 years. Nose: minerals, pear, fresh honey and vanilla. Palate: Oily, citrus fruit and a fresh mouth feel Finish: Oily and chewy in medium length.

Rich with notes of honey and vanilla, citrus fruitiness and a chocolate cream finish that feels oily and chewy.  This is the 2017 release. For reference, the Whiskyfun rating for the Hazelburn 10y (2014 release) is 90 points.
