The Glenrothes started their whisky production in Speyside in 1879 and this Glenrothes Quantum 40 is matured in a sherry cask for 40 years, and the bottle is designed and blown by master craftsmen of Dartington, a British crystal brand with a long history, and the crown-shaped glass stopper is also handmade.
A perfect bottle for a fantastic whisky indeed. Tasting Notes from the distillery: Soaked red cherries and marzipan. A touch of maple syrup with the fragrance of orange zest and light cinnamon. Then dark chocolate coated almonds with dates, toasted oak and nutmeg on the palate. The finish is rich, sweet and complex with lingering spice.

Bottled in 1980s and imported by Sestante s.r.l., Parma this incredibly rare and vintage whisky from Linkwood Distillery comes in an Edinburgh crystal decanter and stopper.
Slight nick on the front box. Please also note the level of the Whisky. Sold in "As Is" Condition.
The Sestante import company, established around the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi (who previously worked for Pinerolo Import well known for its Macallan imports into Italy), usually bottled at ABVs of 40-46% bottlings and cask strength releases from the same casks. Along with Silver Seal (another brand established by him), Mainardi's bottlings are incredibly sought after.

This 1988 Vintage 35 Years Old from the Bunnahabhain Distillery is a special bottling by Whisky Antique (Silver Seal) from a Single Cask #1024. Matured in a Sherry Cask for 35 Years and bottled at 46.5% this release of 60 bottles has a special label designed by The East Asia Whisky Company under the Manta Ray Genesis Edition.
The label captures the silhouette of a majestic Manta Ray made visible by the dark emerald and frigid pink clouds that emanate from its dotted pattern radiating in the colors of the marine environment it inhabits.

Whisky Fun Extract: Colour: mahogany. Nose: this is more old-school than the House of Lords. Not talking about the Scotch whisky. Prunes, old cognac, dates, chocolate, figs, whiffs of moss and old pine wood, a few mushrooms and a little liquorice, plus a few roasted nuts, especially pecans. Mouth: we're deeply reminded of some old Speyside malts by G&M. Like pre-war, bottled in the 1970s and 1980s. It is a time machine! More bouillons, chocolate, pipe tobacco, liquorice, truffles, puréed chestnuts, pears poached in Sauternes, very old Sauternes, very old Malaga… It is definitely very 'antique'. I would love to watch young whisky enthusiasts tasting this whisky, or similar whiskies, for the very first time. It would undoubtedly be a real revelation, as they are becoming so rare. Finish: rather long, rather sublime to tell you the truth. Comments: as I sometimes say, we could spend hours sipping a magnum of each to try, and fail to decide which one, between the Kinship and the Silver Seal, is our favourite. A rare and old whisky from Yamazakura aged for over 35 years. Initially in bourbon cask and reportedly finished for about 1 year in sherry casks. Specially bottled by hand at cask strength, this whisky is elegant, excellently balanced and rounded yet offering a variety of flavours including crisp buttered toast, ripe apricots with an oily texture and a lingering warm finish.
A very rare bottle to find since only 55 bottles were released in November 2020 and each bottle has been hand crafted by Japanese Artisan Hideaki Kakurai, making each bottle unique and different than the other.
