A peated Glendronach is not something that you see often though we must emphasize that it comes across as gently or lightly peated. Initially matured in bourbon casks and then into Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, this whisky leans more towards bourban cask flavors -  honey wax, malty, floral, spicy notes and subtle smoky elements. More earthy notes than the usual islay smoke or maritime saltiness while retaining the character of the Glendronach spirit.

A private label bottling for Mizunara. Heavily peated malt in a Bourbon barrel. Color: Light gold Nose: Dive your nose into the glass expecting heaps of smoke and you will be pleasantly surprised with a vanilla, malty nose. Add some water...smoke smoke smoke. Don't forget to nose this whisky even after you have finished the whisky in the glass. Palate: The sweet vanilla and malty flavours are rounded off by some star anise and spicy peppers as we roll the whisky in our mouth. The spices are very evident and the vanilla become pronounced with addition of a few drops of water. Salty caramel, anyone! Finish: Stays in the back of the tongue and slows creeps into the back of the throat with a lingering salt & spice in the mouth.

The sixth edition release of this Peated Malt series from the Arran Distillery in 2015 has been peated to a level of 20 ppm (as a benchmark Ardbeg tends to use a 50 ppm malt for its Ardbeg 10). On the west coast of the Isle of Arran lies a mystical and windswept peat bog called Machrie Moor. Legend has it that the warrior giant Fingal tethered his favourite dog Bran to one of the many stone circles strewn across the terrain (as shown on the label). This particular stone circle is called Fingal's Cauldron Seat.

Released in 2012, this Black Bull 40 Year Old is a blend of select Single Malt and Single Grain whiskies from the renowned Duncan Taylor & Co. vintage cask range. This expression is bottled at natural strength, preserving the character it has developed during its 40-plus years in the cask. The blend consists of approximately 90% malt whiskies and 10% grain, matured in a ratio of about 80% ex-Bourbon casks and 20% ex-Sherry casks.

This whisky is made using Hokkaido-grown malt and matured primarily in Mizunara oak barrels native to Japan.

Nose : Lemon zest, vanilla and distinct coastal influence give way to floral intensity, juicy peaches, pears, and wafts of rich spices. Palate : Bursts of tropical fruit and dried sultanas, warming smoke and waves of honey, malt, butterscotch and rich sweetness. Finish : Sherry-soaked fruit, cracked black pepper and sea salt. The 2020 limited release uses a combination of Optic/Publican barley grown in the fields next to the Kilchoman Distillery in Rockside on Islay in 2007, 2009 and 2010. This unique Single Farm Single Malt is the only whisky in Scotland to be produced entirely on one farm, from barley to bottle. The barley was then malted onsite and peated using local Islay peat before being distilled, matured and eventually bottled all within the farm distillery’s premises. Matured for a minimum of 9 years, this vatting of 39 bourbon barrels and 2 oloroso sherry casks delivers an intense combination of floral sweetness, layers of rich fruity character and soft maritime peat smoke. Limited to 12,400 bottles.
