Ardbeg 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the peatiest and most complex whiskies globally. It balances intense peat with the natural sweetness of malt. Awarded World Whisky of the Year in 2008, it has a light gold color and aromas of smoky fruit, zesty lemon and lime, and waxy dark chocolate. On the palate, it offers crackling peat, tangy citrus, black pepper, and cinnamon-spiced toffee, alongside briny notes of buttermilk, ripe bananas, and currants. The finish is long and rich, featuring dry espresso, liquorice root, and tarry smoke.

A peated Glendronach is not something that you see often though we must emphasize that it comes across as gently or lightly peated. Initially matured in bourbon casks and then into Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, this whisky leans more towards bourban cask flavors -  honey wax, malty, floral, spicy notes and subtle smoky elements. More earthy notes than the usual islay smoke or maritime saltiness while retaining the character of the Glendronach spirit.

The sixth edition release of this Peated Malt series from the Arran Distillery in 2015 has been peated to a level of 20 ppm (as a benchmark Ardbeg tends to use a 50 ppm malt for its Ardbeg 10). On the west coast of the Isle of Arran lies a mystical and windswept peat bog called Machrie Moor. Legend has it that the warrior giant Fingal tethered his favourite dog Bran to one of the many stone circles strewn across the terrain (as shown on the label). This particular stone circle is called Fingal's Cauldron Seat.

This is a Limited Edition of Machir Bay bottled at Cask Strength of 58.3% ABV using the same vatting recipe as the traditional Machir Bay bottling to appreciate the full power and character of Kilchoman's core range.

Nose: Opens with light, fruity notes influenced by our distillation. Being cask strngth, allows for intense waves of fresh green apple followed by candied tropical fruits. Lasting hints of dry, earthy peat smoke become the backbone for this  release. Palate: Noticeably power at cask strength allowing for a concentrated palate combining citrus notes of lemon and orange peel. As the whisky opens it reveals a dominant honeycomb-sweetness that makes way for a profile driven by milk chocolate, provided by a Bourbon-rich maturation. Finish: A slight cracking black pepper spice combined with nutmeg. The oily, rich texture of this whisky delivers an increasingly smoky influence. Designed specifically for the discerning whisky enthusiast, this dram delivers a bold profile, with the elevated alcohol content serving to intensify the complex flavors while skillfully maintaining a balance of sweetness and smokiness. The result is a remarkable whisky that marries Kilchoman's signature natural peat smoke and vibrant citrus character with layers of dark fruits, rich spices, and a delightful salted caramel sweetness. Peat Level in 50 parts per million.

A limited release for 2022, the Kilchoman Casado (Portuguese for marriage) is matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before 38 casks were married together for 2 years in two 6,000 litre Portuguese red wine vats. 

Nose: Smoke comes first and balanced with ripe stone fruits: peach, plum and cherry. Palate: Pepper and spice at first taste. Dry, salty peat smoke with apricot and lemon. Finish: Long finish with spices, the cooked fruit notes bring a sweet-jam balanced with Kilchoman smoke.

The Loch Gorm 2019 Edition is a vatting of 20 oloroso sherry butts filled in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Layers of stewed plums, pears and tropical fruit have become more defined in the casks as they age, complimenting the bold, spicy and rich character of early releases, creating a beautiful marriage of Kilchoman and oloroso sherry cask maturation. Limited to 15,000 bottles worldwide.

The 2020 limited release uses a combination of Optic/Publican barley grown in the fields next to the Kilchoman Distillery in Rockside on Islay in 2007, 2009 and 2010. This unique Single Farm Single Malt is the only whisky in Scotland to be produced entirely on one farm, from barley to bottle. The barley was then malted onsite and peated using local Islay peat before being distilled, matured and eventually bottled all within the farm distillery’s premises. Matured for a minimum of 9 years, this vatting of 39 bourbon barrels and 2 oloroso sherry casks delivers an intense combination of floral sweetness, layers of rich fruity character and soft maritime peat smoke. Limited to 12,400 bottles.

This unique Single Farm Single Malt is the only whisky in Scotland to be produced entirely on one farm, from barley to bottle. The barley was then malted onsite and peated using local Islay peat before being distilled, matured and eventually bottled all within the farm distillery’s premises. Limited to 12,000 bottles.

Loch Gorm 2022 Edition was matured in oloroso sherry butts previously used by Bodega José y Miguel Martín for a minimum of 8 years.  The 22 casks selected are a combination of 20 fresh and 2 refill casks.  The sherry soaked oak adds layers of rich fruity character which balance beautifully with the classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus flavours.

The limited release Sakurao Single Malt Sauternes Cask Stillman’s Selection is a lightly peated Whisky, which has been first matured in Bourbon barrels and then finished in Bordeaux Sauternes wine casks, with a deep amber hue and a rich, complex profile shaped by its unique maturation process.

This bottle is part of the premium Stillman’s Selection range, reflecting the master distiller’s personal choice of the finest casks. It balances a light peated character with layered notes of fruit and honey, offering a harmonious blend of sweetness and depth.

The Sauternes cask imparts luxurious layers of honeyed sweetness, ripe fruit such as apricot, apple, and pear, alongside rich vanilla and gentle spices. The nose reveals aromas of golden honey, fresh apple, warm cinnamon, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, expect creamy custard, banana, and tropical fruit richness, complemented by a comfortable smokiness and oak aroma.
