This is the 12th Edition of the 100% Islay release and distilled from 2011 - 2013 barley harvests (from the fields next to the distillery) and then matured in Bourbon Barrels and Oloroso Sherry butts for at least 8 years. This is a vatting of 29 Bourbon Barrels & 6 Oloroso Sherry Butts with 12,500 bottles being released. Nose: Elegant, sweet peat smoke, citrus and honey, vanilla and salted caramel. Palate: Green fruits, apple, pear. Light spice, raisin and toffee. Finish: Peat smoke returns and remains on the palate, oily, creamy balanced with toffee and caramelised sugar. 

The 100% Islay release is usually peated at 20 ppm with the entire production "from Barley to Bottle" taking place at the distillery on Islay itself (which is quite unique).

This whisky is made using Hokkaido-grown malt and matured primarily in Mizunara oak barrels native to Japan.

Selected by (and bottled exclusively for) Mizunara Hong Kong, this whisky has been matured in a fresh Bourbon cask for over 6 years and then finished in a Madeira hogshead for over a year and bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.3% ABV.  Sado - the Japanese Tea ceremony captures a variety of elements of Japanese hospitality such as mutual respect, harmony and tranquility. The label has been designed by Artist Kenro Shinchi of Koshikishima island in Kagoshima, Japan to capture the art of Sado. Nose: Mixed fruits, liquorice, citrus and sweet smoke Palate: Orange, spice and christmas cake, with warmest peat smoke and dark chocolate Finish: long with lingering sweet smoke and cooked fruits. Akkeshi Single Blended Japanese Whisky “Toji” (冬至), also called “Winter Solstice,” is the first bottle in the Nishi-Nibu (二至二分) special release series of Akkeshi’s 24 Season Series. As the 18th edition, it represents the winter solstice season when the shortest daylight occurs, symbolizing the sun’s rebirth.

This whisky blends malt with grain whisky both of which are produced at Akkeshi Distillery. Their grain whisky, made from 100% Hokkaido-produced ingredients, is produced using their pot stills (unlike the usual continuous column stills that are used for grain whisky) resulting in a bolder profile rather than a very rounded/neutral profile.

Rich mahogany in color with red stone fruits and baked apple on the nose bursting with tangy stewed fruits on the palate and a lingering sea salt on the finish.

A private label bottling for Mizunara. Heavily peated malt in a Bourbon barrel. Color: Light gold Nose: Dive your nose into the glass expecting heaps of smoke and you will be pleasantly surprised with a vanilla, malty nose. Add some water...smoke smoke smoke. Don't forget to nose this whisky even after you have finished the whisky in the glass. Palate: The sweet vanilla and malty flavours are rounded off by some star anise and spicy peppers as we roll the whisky in our mouth. The spices are very evident and the vanilla become pronounced with addition of a few drops of water. Salty caramel, anyone! Finish: Stays in the back of the tongue and slows creeps into the back of the throat with a lingering salt & spice in the mouth.

First produced by James Logan Mackie in 1861 and taking its name from a famous Edinburgh inn, White Horse is a historic brand with Lagavulin one of its key components.  This bottle has been bottled exclusively for Japan Jardine Matheson & co., (Japan) Ltd. We estimate this to be a bottling from the late 1970s.

Given the date of the bottling, we expect a major component of this whisky to be Lagavulin.
