Kilchoman 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured 100% Islay single malt Scotch whisky draws from barley harvests of 2011, 2012, and 2013, matured for at least 11 years in 16 ex-Oloroso sherry butts. Layers of dried fruits and rich spices infuse the whisky, balancing beautifully with Kilchoman’s signature citrus sweetness and peat smoke. This release showcases the distillery’s fully Islay-grown, malted, and bottled philosophy with sherry-driven depth.

Tasting Note: Nose: Ripe summer fruits, peach, lemon zest with a toffee-like sweetness. Palate: Butterscotch, hints of fresh oak, black pepper and a touch of brine. Finish: Delicate citrus fruits and gentle layers of coastal peat smoke. (From the Distillery)

The 2006 Vintage was matured in a combination of fresh and refill bourbon barrels and bottled in 2011. It reflects Kilchoman’s early style: youthful, yet full of character, and marks the distillery’s first 5-year release.

Color: Light beech darkening nicely with age. Nose: Peaty aroma, nice soft cooked fruits, Christmas cake. Palate: Cloves, butterscotch, soft citrus, mouth-filling and with a lasting sweetness. Nagahama Distillery’s Fragrant Collaboration series features the Coffee Cask expression, created with Bankoku Coffee, a long-established roaster from Yamagata. The coffee character comes from second maturation in bourbon casks that previously held premium coffee beans, resulting in a rich, intense aroma reminiscent of dark-roasted coffee beans. It is bottled at cask strength, with only 376 bottles released.

Tasting note: Aroma: Dominated by a powerful scent of roasted coffee, followed closely by Nagahama’s delicate peat smoke with hints of caramel and bonfire-like char. Palate: Beyond the prominent coffee flavor, earthy peat notes reminiscent of soil and ash emerge. Smooth, with coffee, malt sweetness, and peat smoke forming a harmonious balance. Finish: Long with the lingering essence of smoke and roasted coffee.

Nagahama Distillery’s Fragrant Collaboration series features the Coffee Cask expression, created in partnership with Bankoku Coffee, a long-established roaster from Yamagata. This bottling uses Nagahama’s non-peated malt as the base, with secondary maturation in bourbon casks that previously held aromatic coffee beans. It is bottled at cask strength, with only 334 bottles released. The first nose is said to evoke a creamy café latte.

Tasting Note: Aroma: Opens with notes of espresso and dark chocolate, followed by a fragrant wave of vanilla and caramel. Palate: Dominated by rich coffee flavors, closely followed by creamy sweetness, toffee, and a hint of maple syrup. Finish: Warm and lingering, with a touch of cacao and the classic sweetness of bourbon casks.

This limited release has been matured for 13 years in a combination of bourbon barrels, octaves and calvados casks. It exudes an abundance of juicy fresh fruits, intense sweetness and waves of Islay maritime peat smoke.

According to the founder of Kilchoman, Anthony Wills “..... I’m excited to announce the release of another age statement Kilchoman: the 13-year-old.

The ex-Bourbon casks make up a large part of the vatting, lending that unmistakable Kilchoman character, while the addition of Calvados casks, which may surprise a few people, infuses vibrant green apple and fresh fruit notes into the mix."

Tasting Note: Nose: Fragrant and delicate with bursting notes of fresh pineapple, hibiscus and lemon sherbets. Originally released in 1997, over 25 years ago, and then discontinued in 2004 the 17 Year Old was a peaty pioneer that laid the road map for future Ardbegs. Beloved by the Committee, this New Release traces the old delicate peat profile note by note and has been bottled at 40%/Chill Filtered. This is the renewed 17 Years Old Ardbeg.

Nose: Fresh and clean , with hints of pine resin, aniseed, sea spray and lavender soap very gentle, very restrained, and rather elegant for an Ardbeg. With water, there is a distinctive, flinty minerality, along with subtle hints of sweet peat smoke, malted barley, and a touch of toasting bread. Palate: A beautiful, creamy texture is followed by a lovely combination of flavours, with aniseed toffee, café latte, fennel and gentle antiseptic soap. Finish: The peat smoke is present, but in a very restrained manner, and leads into a lingering aftertaste with chewy oak, cocoa powder and tar. (Distillery Tasting Notes)

Kilchoman 14 Year Old Ex-Sherry “20th Anniversary Cask Series” is a limited-edition, one of two 14-year expressions celebrating 20 years of Kilchoman distillery operations. It was distilled in 2011 and fully matured for 14 years in five first-fill ex-sherry butts (cask nos. 145, 146, 148, 149, and 150), imparting intense notes of dates, spices, and chocolate alongside Kilchoman’s signature coastal, peaty style. A total of 3,145 bottles were released worldwide, with approximately 20 ppm phenols.

Tasting Note: Nose: Fresh and spicy with bold BBQ smoke, black pepper, and rich dried fruits. Palate: Intense, with warming spices and dried dates on the palate. A touch dark chocolate and herbal liquorice balancing the spice. Finish: Long and full of flavour, with lingering sweet spices, rich BBQ meats and subtle integrated peat smoke. (From the Distillery)

Tasting Note: Nose: Soft with a peppery spice, rich sherry sweetness, and a hint of salty, briny notes. Palate: Rounded and rich in character, with a peppery kick, sherry soaked dark fruits, and a gentle smokiness bringing a savoury, briny character. Akkeshi Single Malt Japanese Whisky “Shousho” (小暑), meaning “minor heat,” is the 16th edition in the Nijushisekki (Twenty-Four Solar Terms) series from Hokkaido’s Akkeshi Distillery.  A limited release primarily draws primarily from Hokkaido-grown malted barley, with masterful maturation in local Mizunara oak casks complemented by ex-bourbon and sherry influences.

"Tamashii" is Soul  or Spirit in Japanese. Bottled by Mizunara for its 4th anniversary, matured in refill bourbon barrel. Subtle peat smoke, charcoal ash & earthy notes combined with sweet vanilla, honey, citrus and fresh tropical fruits like banana. Vanilla sweetness combined with a saltiness that finally gives way to peppery notes and spices such as cloves and hints of dark chocolate. Nice long and complex finish.

A limited release of 251 bottles worldwide with the label designed by a Japanese artist Kenro Shinchi. WhiskyFun rated 85 points (SGP 564) Extract "Mouth (neat): it’s really good, I’d almost call this ‘good thin peat’. Limoncello, oysters, ashes, riesling, mercurochrome ...With water: same, while the body got bigger rather than thinner once water’s been added. Comments: very good for sure, just rather ‘hesitating’."

Laphroaig Cairdeas Feis Ile 2017 is matured in a Quarter Cask and bottled at Cask Strength. A Quarter Cask as the name implies is a smaller (quarter of the original Barrel) cask which results in increased contact bewteen whisky and wood and an active maturation and intense flavours. Nose:  A characteristic Laphroaig with minerals, peat smoke and oak spices balanced with subtle fruits Palate: Peat smoke with spices again with peppery notes and salty notes intertwines with malty sweetness Finish: a strong finish with hints of salty notes, green fruits and lingering sweetness.
