This bottling has been at the forefront of growth of Japanese Whisky. This Single Malt Whisky from Suntory has been winning several awards from the early years of 2003, 2010 - ISC Gold; 2009, 2013 - SWSC Double Gold, 2011 - IWSC Gold (best in class). With a beautiful golden hue, the palate brings out fresh tropical fruits, spices such as cloves & cinnamon, a hint of coconut (perhaps coming from the Mizunara Oak matured components of this whisky) with a long finish.

This Caol Ila Whisky distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2022, is matured in a single cask #4079 and bottled at a Natural Cask Strength of 54.1% ABV. Only 255 bottles were released. Nose: A burst of peat smoke, earthy notes, salty seaweed, dried meat, honey syrup at the back, roasty, and dried plum sweetness at the back. Taste: Dried fruit sweetness with salted cararmel, grassy notes, and peat smoke. Finish: A warming finish with dark chocolate.

"Sado - The Guest". This is a Single Cask (#129/2013) bottling exclusively for Mizunara, Hong Kong. Bottled in November 2020 with 254 bottles released, this has been matured in a fresh bourbon barrel for nearly seven years and then finished in a Pedro Ximenez hogshead for over ten months. A Nose of citrus fruits and raisins and a Palate of mixed fruits, salted caramel and dry spice with peat smoke at the back end, the Finish is long with rich fruits, lots of spices like cloves and cardamom along with dry smoke. 

This bottling represents a continuation of the story of SADO, from Mizunara's previous Single Cask bottling (767/2011 label focusing on the HOST) and this time around focuses on the GUEST, both of whom share mutual respect during a Japanese Tea Ceremony ("SADO"). The label for both the bottles were designed by Kenro Shinchi, an artist based out of Koshikishima Island in Kagoshima, Japan.

Yoichi is Nikka’s first distillery which was built in 1934. Nikka's founder Masataka Taketsuru was keen on making whisky which was similar to scotch given his training in Scotland. Hokkaido was a obvious choice was this distillery given the similar climactic  environment as Scotland. Yoichi Single Malt is characterized by subtle peat smoke originating from the traditional direct coal-fired distillation combined with the hint of saltiness delivered by the sea breeze during the aging process.

"SADO - THE HARMONY" The final bottling of Kilchoman Single Cask Whisky in the SADO series by Mizunara captures the harmony and mutual respect between the Host (Cask 767/2011 Bottling) and the Guest (Cask129/2013 Bottling) in the Japanese Tea Ceremony, which is embodied in Mizunara's philosophy. The Label is a combination of both the earlier bottlings in the SADO Series.

This Single Cask Whisky has been matured exclusively for 8 years in a Bourbon Cask.  

Nose: Floral sweetness, lemon, vanilla and soft peak smoke. Palate: Lemon and citrus, butterscotch sweetness and hint of saltiness on the back. Finish: Long and clean with waves of citrus fruits and maritime peat smoke.

Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve is a masterful blend of whiskies aged across the Hakushu range, resulting in a gently smoky dram infused with vibrant fruit nuances. This complex and deeply enjoyable whisky incorporates both lightly and heavily peated malts.

Nose: Notes of green apple, pear, mint, and a whisper of smoke. Palate: Flavors of citrus, melon, and honeydew, complemented by delicate herbs and a subtle smokiness. The experience culminates in a clean and invigorating finish.

Loch Gorm 2022 Edition was matured in oloroso sherry butts previously used by Bodega José y Miguel Martín for a minimum of 8 years.  The 22 casks selected are a combination of 20 fresh and 2 refill casks.  The sherry soaked oak adds layers of rich fruity character which balance beautifully with the classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus flavours.

The 2020 limited release uses a combination of Optic/Publican barley grown in the fields next to the Kilchoman Distillery in Rockside on Islay in 2007, 2009 and 2010. This unique Single Farm Single Malt is the only whisky in Scotland to be produced entirely on one farm, from barley to bottle. The barley was then malted onsite and peated using local Islay peat before being distilled, matured and eventually bottled all within the farm distillery’s premises. Matured for a minimum of 9 years, this vatting of 39 bourbon barrels and 2 oloroso sherry casks delivers an intense combination of floral sweetness, layers of rich fruity character and soft maritime peat smoke. Limited to 12,400 bottles.

Matured in bourbon barrels for about 6 years and a further finishing in Brandy Casks for about 1 year, only 300 bottles were released. While sweet & fruity on the nose (with hints of malt and subtle smoke), the palate brings through dried prunes combined with sourness of green grapes, malty notes and tannins with a pleasant lingering finish. A very enjoyable bottling indeed. 

Their own distillation has also gone through turbulent times in sync with the Japanese whisky market's boom and bust cycles with bulk spirit imports replacing their own production through these times.

The result is a remarkable whisky that marries Kilchoman's signature natural peat smoke and vibrant citrus character with layers of dark fruits, rich spices, and a delightful salted caramel sweetness. Peat Level in 50 parts per million.

This is the 12th Edition of the 100% Islay release and distilled from 2011 - 2013 barley harvests (from the fields next to the distillery) and then matured in Bourbon Barrels and Oloroso Sherry butts for at least 8 years. This is a vatting of 29 Bourbon Barrels & 6 Oloroso Sherry Butts with 12,500 bottles being released. Nose: Elegant, sweet peat smoke, citrus and honey, vanilla and salted caramel. Palate: Green fruits, apple, pear. Light spice, raisin and toffee. Finish: Peat smoke returns and remains on the palate, oily, creamy balanced with toffee and caramelised sugar. 

The 100% Islay release is usually peated at 20 ppm with the entire production "from Barley to Bottle" taking place at the distillery on Islay itself (which is quite unique).

The new single malt from the Miyagikyo Distillery of Nikka is a vatting of various aged whiskies matured in primarily ex-Sherry casks. Color: Gold Nose: Full flavoured and rich floral notes, beeswax and tropical fruits Palate: Malty cereal balanced with spices such as cinnamon, some ginger and chocolate at the back. Finish: Some tobacco with cooked fruits with a lingering softness.
