Nose: A light citrus with manuka honey arrives early; an intense malt is infused with ripe peach, apricot and vanilla. Palate: Superb mouthfeel of rich creaminess. Pōkeno Prohibition Porter Single Cask is a collaboration with Liberty Brewing (a Beer producer located not too far from Pokeno) and has been first matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and then finished for 9 months in porter beer barrels which had been first used to mature Pokeno Whisky, then sent to Liberty for their Beer and then re-sent to Pokeno for the finishing. A limited release of 365 bottles worldwide.

While Porters (so called because they were popular with Porters back in the 18th century in London) and Stouts are both dark beers, Porters use malted barley and stouts use unmalted roasted barley.
