Produced from mild and virtually unpeated malt, this whisky starts off with apples and sweet oranges with oaky/earthy notes. The location for the Miyagikyo distillery was chosen for its high humidity levels. This particular bottling (estimated from around 2000s) has "Miyagikyou" on its label as opposed to later bottlings which spell it as "Miyagikyo".
