Aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, The Hielan'  essentially refers to the The Highland Region. Whilst most of the older GlenDronach range of bottlings are quite heavily sherried, rich and sweet, this youngster stands out amongst the rest of the distillery’s core range. Bold with notes of nuts, butterscotch, spice along with hints of raisin and citrus.  If you like the malty flavours with the boldness of this youngster, this whisky is for you.

A 1993 Vintage special bottling from the GlenDronach distillery (11/06/1993), matured for 27 years in a Single Pedro Ximenex (PX) Sherry Puncheon Cask. Nose: Plum and blackberry liqueur with chocolate and hazelnut praline, and the warmth of freshly baked gingerbread. Appearance: Dark mahogany. Palate: Spiced fruitcake with treacle and angelica crescendos to demerara sugar, star anise and lingering espresso cream. (Producer's Tasting Notes). Limited to 692 bottles.

GlenDronach 21 years old is named Parliament after the parliament of rooks guarding the warehouse of the distillery. This whisky is a marraige of spirit matured in Pedro Ximenez casks and Oloroso Sherry casks from Andalucia in Spain. A full bodied and richly sherried whisky, with notes of elegant ripe blueberries, plums, candied orange, pudding. A finish which is warm with dark chocolate treacle.

A 2005 Vintage Single Cask #1926 special bottling from the GlenDronach distillery, matured for 13 years in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask for the Taiwan market and bottled at an impressive 57.3% ABV. Deep copper in color, and a nose of aromatic sandalwood, winter spice and creme caramel, the palate is full of sweet and mellow almonds, orange and walnut cream with lingering cocoa (Producer's Tasting notes). 705 bottles were released in 2019. The bottle number is for reference only.

A peated Glendronach is not something that you see often though we must emphasize that it comes across as gently or lightly peated. Initially matured in bourbon casks and then into Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, this whisky leans more towards bourban cask flavors -  honey wax, malty, floral, spicy notes and subtle smoky elements. More earthy notes than the usual islay smoke or maritime saltiness while retaining the character of the Glendronach spirit.

Whilst no "Sherry Monster" that Glendronach has built a reputation as - in the more recent times - this vintage bottling from the 1970-80s from this Highland Distillery represents a different style of spirit which is increasingly hard to find. Bottled as 'Teacher's Glendronach" for Italian importers Ruffino.

A 2008 Vintage special bottling from the GlenDronach distillery, matured for 11 years in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks from Spain and selected by Rachel Barrie for the Professional Danish Retailers. With a burnished copper hue and aroma of honey, spices, hazelnut and raisins, the palate is rich in creamy malt, toasted oak, chocolates and honeycomb with a lingering finish of nutmeg and crystallized ginger. A limited release of about 3500 bottles in 2019.

GlenAllachie is currently one of Scotland's few independent distilleries, led by iconic Master Distiller Billy Walker (previously from Glendronach). This 8 years bottling has been matured in PX, Oloroso, Virgin Oak & 1st fill bourbon. Natural colour, Non chill filtered and released at a strength of 46% ABV. 

Nose: Heather honey, butterscotch and cinnamon, followed by waves of of ginger, toasted almonds and mocha. Taste: Lastings oftreacle, dried sultanas and butterscotch, with cinnamon, peppermint and honeycomb. (Tasting Notes form distillery)

Glenglassaugh 30 Years Old is a premium Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the coastal Glenglassaugh distillery. Matured for 30 years in sherry butts, this bottle presented in a distinctive teardrop decanter.

The coastal Glenglassaugh distillery went silent in 1986 and reopened in 2008 and is now operated by Brown-Forman, owners of Jack Daniel’s.

Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2015, this whisky from the Glendullan distillery was matured for 18 years in 2 bourbon hogsheads and 456 bottles were released at an ABV of 55.6% by Cadenheads the Independent Bottler (related to the Springbank Distillery).

Nose: Minty with lots of toffee. Very floral and grassy. Palate: Creamy. Shortbread and lemon meringue pie with cream. Finish: Initially short and creamy finishing in apple notes.

Glendullan, owned by Diageo is also bottled under the Singleton brand for the US market.

Matured in mountain oak casks and bottled in 2003, the "Traditional" refers to "malt whisky in its original and most natural form", straight from the wood. Bottled at a high ABV of 57.2%, the "bouquet is robust but distinctly Glenmorangie. The addition of a little water releases a fascinating range of subtle aromas: cloves, vanilla, honey and citrus fruits all entwined with a hint of peat smoke.

This bottling is the sixth one of the series and comes in a black box adorned with a metal coin featuring the portrait of George S Grant. Distilled in 1976 (the birth year of George S Grant) and bottled on 19th May 2016. 

This bottle has been signed by George Grant, the sixth generation of the Grant Family who has been at the helm of Glenfarclas since 2000. 

Only 1500 bottles were released. Rated 92+ on Whisky base (by over 25 reviewers).
