Glansa is an adjective meaning shining storm-laden skies in Old Norse - a reference to the temperamental weather on the island. The original signature smooth fruity single malt aged in American Oak has been further rested in peated casks resulting in rich notes of warm heather honey, soft fruits giving way to a subtle smoky finish. Matured exclusively in spanish oloroso sherry butts, this A'bunadh is the Batch 67 release from Aberlour. A'bunadh means "The Original" in Gaelic and is a respectful toast to the founder of Aberlour, James Fleming. Bottled at cask strength, this is an intensely rich sherried whisky. Aroma of spices, pralines, spiced oranges with a palate of black cherries, ginger and dark chocolate. The finish is long and balanced with hints of oak.
Usually a vatting of 5 - 25 year old Whiskies, the A'bunadh range is a highly awarded release from this distillery.
