The first official 10-year bottling from the Chichibu Distillery and hence called "The First Ten" was originally supposed to be released so as to coincide with the 2020 Olympics in Japan. There have been other special, single cask, exclusive releases of 10 years old whisky from Chichibu but this is expected to be forming a part of their regular lineup going forward (similar to On The Way, which was supposed to be capturing their journey towards this very milestone).

Fresh and fruity on the nose coming together with smooth honey on the palate eventually leading to a brilliantly long finish to savour. Some of the malt included in this bottling was grown locally in Chichibu.  For Chichibu fans, this should truly be a milestone to experience. 

The First Ten is bottled at 50.5% ABV, and 5000 bottles were released in November 2020. Bottle number in image for reference only. Rated 5 Stars / 90 points on Whiskyfun.

A unique Yamazaki Single Malt from the 2020 limited edition series released in Nov. 2020. As we know, the usual Yamazaki bottlings are not usually very peated, except for specific heavily peated releases in the past. Matured in American oak barrels and hogsheads, this represents one of the key component malts. Color: pale straw Nose: wood smoke and barbequed pineapple Palate: Sweet creamy vanilla combined with subtle smoke Finish: peppery and spicy with continued smoke. Delightfully smoky and pleasant.

Matured mostly in American bourbon cask and then finished in one of four different wood types personally selected by Richard Paterson to showcase the four seasons.  Spring Edition – Finished in Madeira Wine Casks; Summer Edition – Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks; Autumn Edition – Finished in Apostles Sherry Casks; Winter Edition – Finished in Matusalem Oloroso Sherry Casks.

This is a marriage of the East and the West. Legendary Mizunara Oak Casks which have been unique to Japanese Whisky,  travelled 6000 miles from Japan to Islay and sat in Bowmore's equally legendary No.1 Vaults to finish this remarkable creation.

Originally matured in Bourbon and Sherry Casks, which were then finished in Mizunara Oak Casks for about 3 years.

Mizunara Oak maturation usually imparts unique flavours of sandalwood and coconut. Bowmore Official Tasting Notes (Website) for this bottling. Color: Warm amber Nose: Spicy, mellow sweetness carried on a fresh ocean breeze Palate: Sweet vanilla, cedar wood, exotic mango and honey rose blossom Finish: Floral spice and fragrant smoke.

Matured in a Hogshead barrel for about 18 years before a Quarter Cask finish lasting for an additional 2 years, this was a selection by the Laphroaig Distillery Manager, John Campbell and Philippe Lanusse of Paris Duty Free. Rated 90+ on Whiskybase across 21 votes.  "..Excellent, all on olive 'juice' (I like that), anchovies again, smoked fish, a little cider, oysters again (just any breed)... Not much medicinal notes and the peatiness is, say 'controlled'. Very good. Finish: long and extremely briny and salty. Comments: whichever the wood technology that's inside, this is brilliant whisky provided you like these kinds of ueber-briny profiles that only Bowmore can also display. A commemorative bottling for the 30th anniversary collection of Silver Seal. Distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2010, this special bottling by Silver Seal offers rich, fruity, and earthy flavours together with some notes of orange and toffee. A high quality bottle which Scored 5 stars (90 points) on Whiskyfun. Only 227 bottles were release. Bottle no. 200 of 227. 

Silver Seal was founded by Ernesto Mainardi in 2000, which was his second bottling company after the esteemed Sestante established in 1979. Both companies were sold to Massimo Righi, proprietor of Whisky Antique, in 2010.

The box is damaged as indicated in the images. Labels of the bottle are slightly stained. Level of whisky: Middle neck. Please examine the pictures closely before purchasing. Sold in "As Is" Condition.
