Imperial's history has been dogged by periods of closure and changed ownership several times, until it was finally demolished in 2013. Usually very difficult to find and has somewhat of a fan following of its floral, cream soda, gentle style of spirit.

This bottling by Independent Bottler Signatory Vintage is part of their Cask Strength Collection. Distilled in August 1995 and matured in a Hogshead #50142 for 18 years, it was bottled in January 2014. Only 293 bottles were released.

Nose: Citrus, minerals, almost alkaline balanced with some sweetness. Overall, the nose is quite elegant Palate: Citrus fruits, lemony sweetness with earthiness Finish: The citrus fruits remain with some oak and a warming finish which stays for quite some time.

Named after a town on the east coast of India (called Portonova, located on the east coast of India in the Southern State of Tamil Nadu and was co-incidentally also under Portugese control between the 16th and 18th century), this un-peated single malt whisky has been matured in new American oak and ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to once-used port pipes especially imported from Portugal and finally back to ex-bourbon casks. Nose: Fruity sweetness and caramel, burnt apple pie Palate: Spicy and fruity flavor mixed with caramel and oaky saltiness. Finish: Long and fruity with hints of berry fruits.

This triple distilled, unpeated style Hazelburn Single Malt Whisky from Springbank distillery was distilled in June 2007 and bottled in October 2016. It was initially matured in fresh/first fill bourbon casks for 6 years before being finished in refill Barolo wine hogsheads for 3 years. 10,800 bottles have been released. 

Nose: Sweet notes of confectionery and fruit salad, with roasted almonds, ice cream sorbet, and soft fruits. Taste: Peppery with light tannins, featuring dried fruits like raisins and hints of coconut meat. Finish: Medium-long and dry, with cane sugar, chocolate, pineapple, vanilla, and cooked fruit.

Matured in a Hogshead barrel for about 18 years before a Quarter Cask finish lasting for an additional 2 years, this was a selection by the Laphroaig Distillery Manager, John Campbell and Philippe Lanusse of Paris Duty Free. Rated 90+ on Whiskybase across 21 votes.  "..Excellent, all on olive 'juice' (I like that), anchovies again, smoked fish, a little cider, oysters again (just any breed)... Not much medicinal notes and the peatiness is, say 'controlled'. Very good. Finish: long and extremely briny and salty. Comments: whichever the wood technology that's inside, this is brilliant whisky provided you like these kinds of ueber-briny profiles that only Bowmore can also display. This Longrow 18 years is a limited edtion, and reportedly a vatting of 60% matured in refill sherry casks and 40% in bourbon casks, bottled in 2017 with 4500 bottles released. 

Nose: sweet fruits, vanilla, oak with smoke and maritime notes Palate: very creamy and oily mouth feel with grapefruits, passion fruit, caramel and more red fruits Finish: wonderful balance of salty smoke and subtle sweetness of some dark fruits perhaps coming from the refill sherry cask with a dry and long finish.

Nose: A sweet yet meaty dram there are aromas of glazed cherries and cured salty meats. Stewed dark plummy notes and chewy black wine gums. Maple syrup and crispy bacon with a medicinal influence from the robust peat smoke. It seems brighter on the nose with a touch of zesty orange peel. Palate: Sweet, smoky and waxy with a twist of citrus. Caramel shortbread with marzipan, lemon zest and a dusting of icing sugar. Matured in American oak barrels and hogsheads, this represents one of the key component malts. Each year, the Distillery Manager at Laphroaig (John Campbell in this case) handcrafts a limited edition for the "Friends of Laphroaig" to celebrate friendship ("Cairdeas" in Gaelic). Released at Fèis Ìle 2015 to celebrate the distillery's 200th anniversary, 100% floor malted barley (from the distillery's own small malting floor) was used with the two smaller and older stills. Reportedly matured in ex-bourbon casks for about 11-12 years, this bottling captures Master Distiller John Campbell's vision of how Laphroaig was originally produced.

An old presentation (released around 2013) bottle of "The Balvenie 30 Year Old", crafted by malt master David Stewart by vatting Whisky matured in traditional and European oak casks. In our opinion this is indeed a masterpiece and showcases the skills of the malt master in creating a beautifully balanced and impressive aged whisky bottled at a higher ABV of 47.3%. Rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelized pear.

This series has been a Gold Medal winner at the 2004 IWSC and the 2013 release won a Gold Outstanding at the IWSC and Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2013.
