Released to celebrate Amrut Distillery Chairman, Mr. Neel Jagdale's 60th birthday, only 1350 bottles were released in 2017 (this is the second release). This was the oldest age statement at the time of its release and is part of the Greedy Angel's Series of bottlings (with later releases including a10 year and a 12 year old). Distilled using a mix of unpeated Indian barley and peated Scottish barley, this is a special bottling indeed. Tropical fruits with hints of oak combined with sweet malt and vanilla.

Amontillado is a dry sherry wine, darker than Fino and lighter than Oloroso and matures under a cap of flor and then exposed to the air for further oxidation. Toasted almonds and hazelnut are the classic aromas in Amontillado seasoned casks. Each year, the Distillery Manager at Laphroaig (John Campbell in this case) handcrafts a limited edition for the "Friends of Laphroaig" to celebrate friendship ("Cairdeas" in Gaelic). Released at Fèis Ìle 2015 to celebrate the distillery's 200th anniversary, 100% floor malted barley (from the distillery's own small malting floor) was used with the two smaller and older stills. Reportedly matured in ex-bourbon casks for about 11-12 years, this bottling captures Master Distiller John Campbell's vision of how Laphroaig was originally produced.
