Unlike with the tradition of the classic pennsylvania rye whiskeys which is a high rye (80%-100%) mashbill, Rittenhouse is a low rye (i.e. 51%), which is a modern kentucky rye mashbill. It helps this rye whisky carries a distinct and spicy flavor. Stone fruit i.e., peach, salty and umami come through. It changes in the middle to more tropical fruity like banana. Hint of chocolate bitter at the finishing. Using Sake yeast and white koji for the fermentation. Under the low temperature, it enhances the aroma of the Shochu.

This 8th edition has a fresh and refreshing fragrance reminiscent of the small, dainty Hamagou flowers that bloom on Miyajima Island, a world heritage site located near SAKURAO DISTILLERY. Botanicals include Hamagou, rosemary, shiranui citrus, lavender, green tea, spearmint, juniper berry from France, angelica root, licorice, coriander seed, vanilla bean, and caraway seed.
SAKURAO GIN is produced by a German-made copper hybrid still
and is distilled using a hybrid method (combination of steeping and vapor methods), which is the best way to extract the flavors of each and every botanicals.
