This whisky is a 2021 release single malt whisky from Mitchell’s Glengyle distillery, this is a lightly peated malt which has been aged in a combination of bourbon casks (about 70%) and sherry casks (about 30%). Re-opened in 2004 after being closed for almost 80 years, the Glengyle distillery finally came back to the Mitchell family (owners of Springbank) in 2000. 

Nose: oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat Palate: initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed Finish: velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram (Tasting Notes from the Distillery).

Bottled in Oct 2018, this is Batch #3 matured in Bourbon Casks. A rich smooth smokey whisky along with vanilla/honey sweetness and a mix of nuts. Nose: Oils and wax with some spices and tobacco. A lovely nose indeed Palate: Rich with a lot of spices including some cardamom, cloves and a leathery smoke with a lot of citrus notes Finish: a beautiful long finish with oils layering the mouth.

This century-old classic combines carefully selected "Kin Gin" sweet potatoes (黄金千貫) from southern Kyushu and pure natural water from the Kirishima fissure, creating a rich, smooth, and refreshing shochu with a clean finish.

The art of Satsuma Kiriko (kiriko: cut glass) has its origins in Kagoshima (also know as the Satsuma region) since the end of time of samurai in the 19th century. This art form was once lost in the turbulent times around the end of Edo Period and has since been revived in 1985 and the technique of Satsuma Kiriko is well recognised in world’s glass artcrafts due to their features such as “gradation” expressing the delicate aspects of the Japanese culture. Deshimaru Studio, a family owned glass producer in Kagoshima upholds this traditional technique while interpreting them into modern innovative expressions.

"KOMASA GIN Hojicha" is Komasa Brewery's second craft gin, following KOMASA GIN Sakurajima Komikan. KOMASA GIN-Sakurajima Komikan is a very enjoyable and broadly approachable gin produced by Komasa Jyozo, which has over 130 years of experience making shochu in Kagoshima. KOMASA GIN is based on minimalization of additional elements and focuses on the major botanical i.e. the Sakurajima komikan. The world's smallest mikan, or satsuma mandarin, is an important crop on Mt. Sakurajima as it is unsuitable for rice production due to its volcanic ash soil. With a diameter of only 4-5cm and a weight of 20-50g, the size of this mikan is small but its presence is immense.

Tasting Note: The crisp, dry taste of gin and the gentle citrus aroma of mikan combine for an entirely unique drinking experience.
