Amontillado is a dry sherry wine, darker than Fino and lighter than Oloroso and matures under a cap of flor and then exposed to the air for further oxidation. Toasted almonds and hazelnut are the classic aromas in Amontillado seasoned casks. Color: Rich auburn Nose: Very rich and fruity sweetness with notes of walnuts, almonds, some toffee and a touch of oak. Palate Soft sherry with a hint of caramel and a gentle finish of peppered nuts.

This 1988 Vintage 35 Years Old from the Bunnahabhain Distillery is a special bottling by Whisky Antique (Silver Seal) from a Single Cask #1024. Matured in a Sherry Cask for 35 Years and bottled at 46.5% this release of 60 bottles has a special label designed by The East Asia Whisky Company under the Manta Ray Genesis Edition.

The label captures the silhouette of a majestic Manta Ray made visible by the dark emerald and frigid pink clouds that emanate from its dotted pattern radiating in the colors of the marine environment it inhabits.

Whisky Fun Extract: Colour: mahogany. Nose: this is more old-school than the House of Lords. Not talking about the Scotch whisky. Prunes, old cognac, dates, chocolate, figs, whiffs of moss and old pine wood, a few mushrooms and a little liquorice, plus a few roasted nuts, especially pecans. Mouth: we're deeply reminded of some old Speyside malts by G&M. Like pre-war, bottled in the 1970s and 1980s. It is a time machine! More bouillons, chocolate, pipe tobacco, liquorice, truffles, puréed chestnuts, pears poached in Sauternes, very old Sauternes, very old Malaga… It is definitely very 'antique'. I would love to watch young whisky enthusiasts tasting this whisky, or similar whiskies, for the very first time. It would undoubtedly be a real revelation, as they are becoming so rare. Finish: rather long, rather sublime to tell you the truth. Comments: as I sometimes say, we could spend hours sipping a magnum of each to try, and fail to decide which one, between the Kinship and the Silver Seal, is our favourite. Deep copper in color, and a nose of aromatic sandalwood, winter spice and creme caramel, the palate is full of sweet and mellow almonds, orange and walnut cream with lingering cocoa (Producer's Tasting notes). 705 bottles were released in 2019. This Yamazaki Single Malt is one of Yamazaki 2020 limited edition series release on Nov. 2020. It was matured in Spanish oak sherry cask. Spanish Oak casks tend to contain more natural tannins and maturation in these casks results in richer flavours than American Oak casks. This limited release was matured in oak casks from Northern Spain, which were previously used to mature sherry.

Color: Deep red amber Nose: Raisins and sun dried tomatoes. Palate: Concentrated sweetness balanced with acidity and rich fruity aromas Finish: Lingering acidity with dark chocolate bitterness.

A older version of this Yamazaki 18 years.  A big favourite from the Suntory lineup and a highly awarded whisky. Largely matured in ex-sherry casks.

Color: Deep amber Nose: Raisin, apricot, cafe au lait, Mizunara (Japanese oak) Palate: Blackberry, strawberry jam, dark chocolate. Finish: Long, spicy, smooth and a fair amount of cloves, cardamom and cinnamon. (Suntory's Tasting Notes) 

Whiskyfun gave this 90 points.  Supreme Champion Spirit award at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) in 2025, SWSC Double Gold Medal in 2005, IWSC Trophy in 2006 and ISC Gold in 2007. This is bottled prior to 2018.

Nagahama released its first Single Malt, The First Batch, in 2022, followed by Second and Third batches. Entering 2024-2025, the series shows signs of accelerating, with this Fifth Batch released only about six months after the previous "Batch". This release is  approximately 3,000 bottles. 

Nagahama The Fifth Batch was distilled in 2020, aged for 2 years and 8 months in Islay Quarter Cask and the KOVAL distillery Casks of the US, and then further matured for 1 year in  Oloroso Sherry Hogshead.

Nose: Fruity notes of fresh orange and white peach, accompanied by the sweetness of apricot candy. Palate: The mid-palate unfolds with a warm sweetness reminiscent of honey cake and maple pancakes. Smooth with spicy notes of nutmeg and clove. Finish: Dry, elegant tannin from the sherry casks, lingering long after the first sip.

This limited-edition whisky, themed "The Ultimate Whisky That Perfectly Pairs with Cigars," is a collaboration between Nagahama and COHIBA ATMOSPHERE TOKYO, a premium cigar bar in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo. During development, the blend was tasted with various Dominican cigars to adjust the recipe. The final design features a fruity, vibrant spirit as its core, blended with Nagahama Distillery PX sherry cask/ Oloroso sherry cask spirit with 50ppm peat.

Nose: Rich and layered, with notes of brown sugar, honey toast, nuts, and a touch of fruit acidity, all enveloped in a gentle smokiness. Palate: Bursting with fresh fruitiness from green apple and pear, transitioning into a smooth, sweet maple waffle-like finish. Finish: balanced interplay of tannins and peat from the sherry casks, resulting in a long and elegant finish.
