Released by the family owned Glenfarclas Distillery, this Collector Series comprise, six extremely exclusive Whiskies, each representing one of six generations of the Grant Family which has continued to own the Distillery. This bottling is the first one of the series and comes in a black box adorned with a silver coin featuring the portrait of John Grant (1805-1889), who purchased the distillery on 8th June 1865. Distilled on the 23rd September 1966 and bottled on 18th December 2013 from Fino Cask #'s 4194, 4195, and 4197. A total of 1444 bottles were released. Rated 92+ on Whiskybase (by over 100 reviewers). An old presentation (released around 2013) bottle of "The Balvenie 30 Year Old", crafted by malt master David Stewart by vatting Whisky matured in traditional and European oak casks. In our opinion this is indeed a masterpiece and showcases the skills of the malt master in creating a beautifully balanced and impressive aged whisky bottled at a higher ABV of 47.3%. Rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelized pear.
This series has been a Gold Medal winner at the 2004 IWSC and the 2013 release won a Gold Outstanding at the IWSC and Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2013.

The Yoichi Single Malt retains its original characteristic pleasant peat, gentle smokiness and briny notes combined with additional sweetness on the palate and a bitter chocolate finish. The Miyagikyo Single Malt benefits from a caramelized sweetness and spiciness on the finish while keeping its usual fresh fruitiness and distinctive aroma with strong Sherry Cask notes. Only 3,500 sets were released. The set comes with original boxes.

Only 2137 bottles were released. Color: Deep walnut brown. Nose: black grapes with antique leather, leaf tobacco. Palate: Ripe plums, citrus orange, old Jamaican ginger with ground coffee, dark chocolate and walnut raisin cake. A very special whisky indeed. Rated 90+ on Whiskybase over 100 Votes.

This release on the back of the huge success of the first release (of the same vintage aged 28 years and released in March 2013) was also distilled in 1984 and matured in bourbon casks, which sat in Bowmore's famed No.1 Vaults for 30 years and was bottled in 2014 at cask strength. A beautiful deep gold color with citrus and mint dark chocolate on the nose, the palate is made up of honey, hints of ginger and a finish of elegant fruits and spices with dark chocolate. Only 500 bottles were released.

Released in 2012, this was the first of the Valhalla Collection/Series. 23,000 bottles were released. The Valhalla Collection captures Orkney's historical Scandinavian connections with Thor representing the Norse God of Thunder and supposedly the creator of the Cliffs of Yesnaby on Orkney's west coast. A great cask strength 16 year old malt bottling and presented in a wooden frame inspired by a viking long boat! Increasingly difficult to find.
