The Macallan 12 Year Old Gran Reserva was a special release exclusive to the Japanese and Taiwanese markets in 2007. While 90,000 bottles were released then, it has been one of the hugely popular bottlings being a rich, dark and a delicious 12 Year Old to come out of this famous Speyside distillery. Matured in first fill Oloroso Sherry oak casks this delivers deep and rich notes of sherried fruits, dark chocolate and a range of spices. An increasingly difficult bottle to find.

This 1988 Vintage 35 Years Old from the Bunnahabhain Distillery is a special bottling by Whisky Antique (Silver Seal) from a Single Cask #1024. Matured in a Sherry Cask for 35 Years and bottled at 46.5% this release of 60 bottles has a special label designed by The East Asia Whisky Company under the Manta Ray Genesis Edition.
The label captures the silhouette of a majestic Manta Ray made visible by the dark emerald and frigid pink clouds that emanate from its dotted pattern radiating in the colors of the marine environment it inhabits.

Whisky Fun Extract: Colour: mahogany. Nose: this is more old-school than the House of Lords. Not talking about the Scotch whisky. Prunes, old cognac, dates, chocolate, figs, whiffs of moss and old pine wood, a few mushrooms and a little liquorice, plus a few roasted nuts, especially pecans. Mouth: we're deeply reminded of some old Speyside malts by G&M. Like pre-war, bottled in the 1970s and 1980s. It is a time machine! More bouillons, chocolate, pipe tobacco, liquorice, truffles, puréed chestnuts, pears poached in Sauternes, very old Sauternes, very old Malaga… It is definitely very 'antique'. I would love to watch young whisky enthusiasts tasting this whisky, or similar whiskies, for the very first time. It would undoubtedly be a real revelation, as they are becoming so rare. Finish: rather long, rather sublime to tell you the truth. Comments: as I sometimes say, we could spend hours sipping a magnum of each to try, and fail to decide which one, between the Kinship and the Silver Seal, is our favourite. Yoichi 15 Years Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky is matured for 15 years in a combination of American oak and possibly sherry casks, enhancing its complexity and depth of flavor. Jim Murray in Whisky Magazine, Dec 2000 rated this whisky 9.5/10. Whisky Fun scores it at 87 points. A very bold & complex whisky with a long finish.
Nose: rich aromas of dried fruits like figs and raisins, honey, and vanilla, complemented by smoke and subtle spice. Palate: a harmonious blend of fruitiness, sweet malt, and oak, with layers of spice and a hint of peat, resulting in a full-bodied, creamy texture. Finish: long and warming, leaving lingering notes of fruit, honey, and gentle smokiness, reflective of the distillery’s coal-fired production methods.
This series has garnered recognition in various whisky competitions, including a Gold Medal at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a Gold Medal at the 2017 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), and being named Best Japanese Single Malt at the 2021 World Whisky Awards.

Stewart MBE (with over 50 years of experience) and who possesses an unequalled knowledge of The Balvenie to hand-select a variety of vintage casks and marry them in Tun 1509, housed in Warehouse 24. Three months of vatting then results in this exceptionally complex and rare single malt Scotch whisky, rated 5 Stars (90 points) by Whiskyfun.
The success of The Balvenie's TUN 1401 series meant that a bigger vat was needed, and in came TUN 1509. One batch is bottled each year and The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 1 was launched in 2014.The second batch of TUN1509 released in 2015 comprises 23 American oak barrels and nine European oak sherry butts. This is a limited release of 8,500 bottles.
