Founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934, Nikka Whisky is celebrated for its craftsmanship and commitment to traditional methods, operating two main distilleries: Yoichi and Miyagikyo.
The Nikka Yoichi Heavily Peated, released in September 2015 with only 3,000 bottles produced, focuses on peat, showcasing the intense character of the Yoichi Distillery through its robust flavors.
The Nikka Miyagikyo Sherry Cask also released in September 2015 and limited to 3,000 bottles, features a blend of whiskies aged in sherry casks. Known for their sweetness and fruity aromas, Miyagikyo's whiskies benefit from the unique sweetness imparted by these barrels.
