This is the 2nd release of Mars The Y.A. Released in 2023 YA refers to Yakushima Aging Cellars located on Yakushima Island (A UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Kagoshima, Japan. The Y.A. #02 uses Malt Whisky distilled at the 2 distilleries owned by Hombo Shuzo at its Shinshu Distillery in Nagano & Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima. 

Sun-ripened fruits combine with the sea breeze and soft white smoke. Palate: A thick flavor develops with smoky and mineral notes. Finish: A rich oily taste lingers long.

The 5 part Artist Series includes five carefully selected single-cask whiskeys which are combined with the work of five representative artists in Taiwan. For the fifth (S&W #005) and final release they have chosen a 31 Years Old Whisky from the Dufftown Distillery in Speyside. This cask was selected under Diageo's Cask of Distinction program which represents some of their rarest and exclusive stock of Whisky Casks and combined with the original work of world-class calligrapher Mr. Wu Jiru - making this a very rare bottling indeed.

Matured in a Single American Oak Cask Cask No. 14536 this Whisky from Dufftown Distillery has been bottled after 31 Years at Natural Cask Strength. Filled on 15 December 1988 and bottled in 2020 only 219 bottles were released. Nose: Ripe fruit, vanilla, lime, honey, fruit jelly Palate: rose dew, subtle sweetness, liqorice guava, southern almonds (Tasting Notes from Bottler)

Released in 2022 as a special bottling to commemorate the 6th Anniversary of the Mars Tsunuki Distillery. This special release is a vatting of 3 ex-Bourbon barrels with only 657 bottles being released in total.  Winning a Gold medal on 2023 World Whiskies Award.

Tasing Note: Nose: Vanilla, sweet citrus fruits. Palate: Vanilla, cream, chocolate. Finish: Clean sweetness, bourbon barrel aroma.

The "Tsunuki Distillery Festival", traditionally held every November, was canceled in its festival format on 2021 due to the new coronavirus. In its place, a special commemorative bottle was released for the 6th anniversary, marketed as the "Tsunuki Distillery Festival Limited Edition," which has been available annually.

This is a single cask #10198 from Clyenlish matured in bourbon hogshead for 21 years and bottled by Kingsbury at Cask Strength under its "Celtic Labels". Kingsbury has been one of the most sought after Independent Bottlers with its roots in Japan.

Nose: Honey with candied citrus fruit and bees wax Palate: The texture is firm and clean with big bold fruits present along with vanilla. Adding water enhances the notes. Finish: some sea salt and a whiff of smoke. 

 Rated 90+ on Whiskybase. Only 245 bottles were released.

Hazelburn is a triple distilled, non peated single malt whisky produced at the Springbank Distillery. This Hazelburn 21 Years Old has been matured in 70% Sherry Cask and 30% Bourbon Cask. Released in 2022 with 3600 bottles only. 

Fruity and spicy with dried fruits, tobacco and varnished wood. Along side there is some charcoal, grassy moss and a harmonious bunch of dark fruits, indicative of the Sherry Cask component though some lemon/citrus notes keep wafting in and out.

Nose: Lots of wine flavour, fresh and bit smoky, some red fruit like cherry and floral nosing. Palate: Smooth and sweet red grapes and black fruit, oak flavour, nutty, cloves Finish: Long finish, smoky and tobacco with little sweet fruits in the background.

A limited release in 2017 as a part of the distillery’s 200th year celebration, this Teaninich Whisky was distilled before the distillery underwent significant expansion. Matured in refill American oak hogsheads and Sherry Butts filled in1999. This bottling captures the older style of Distillery. The initial sweetness and citrus fruits gives way to some herbal and grassy notes along with some toffee and apple. 5352 Bottles were released. Rated 87+ across 115+ votes on Whiskybase.

One of 2012's most hotly-anticipated releases, Ardbeg Galileo is made up from casks distilled in 1999, some of which spent their full term of maturation in casks that previously held Marsala wine, imparting sweet tropical fruit flavours to the mix. Galileo's concept celebrates the well-publicised experiment whereby small quantities of Ardbeg were sent into space at the end of 2011 to see how they mature in zero gravity.

About 15,000 bottles were reportedly released at an ABV of 49%.
