This is Batch 3 released in June 2017 and is a vatting of whiskies distilled from scottish peated barley and matured in a bourbon cask #3189 filled in May 2012 and one port pipe cask #2715 filled in March 2012 and hence "Double Cask". Nose: rich honey, some floral notes along with a variety of fruits and some oak Palate: Tropical fruits with some lime and subtle spices Finish: Fruity with delicate oak, cinnamon with a hint of pepper.
This was a limited release of 1050 bottles.

Finished in "Orange "(Naarangi in Hindi) Sherry Casks. Amrut procured Oloroso Sherry in the Casks from Spain which were then infused with fresh orange peels for over two years after which the sherry was emptied and then filled with Amrut Single Malt for further maturation. The noticeable citrus flavours alongside the traditional sherry notes make this Single Malt quite special.

Laphroaig Cairdeas Feis Ile 2017 is matured in a Quarter Cask and bottled at Cask Strength. A Quarter Cask as the name implies is a smaller (quarter of the original Barrel) cask which results in increased contact bewteen whisky and wood and an active maturation and intense flavours. Nose: A characteristic Laphroaig with minerals, peat smoke and oak spices balanced with subtle fruits Palate: Peat smoke with spices again with peppery notes and salty notes intertwines with malty sweetness Finish: a strong finish with hints of salty notes, green fruits and lingering sweetness.

Re-opened in 2004 after being closed for almost 80 years, the Glengyle distillery finally came back to the Mitchell family (owners of Springbank) in 2000.
Nose: oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat Palate: initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed Finish: velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram (Tasting Notes from the Distillery).

Lots of smoke, iodine, and salty notes with hints of oloroso in the background. A great bottling to taste a Kilchoman from its early days.
