Koval Distillery, founded in Chicago in 2008, using diverse grains such as rye, wheat, oat, millet etc. resulting in flavors distinctly different from traditional whiskies. To explore the impact of different casks on whisky flavor profiles, Nagahama Distillery acquired a batch of casks previously used by Koval for maturing their whiskies and named them "Koval Casks."  

The Amahagan World Malt Edition KOVAL is the original World Malt Whisky Edition 1 which has been further aged in Koval casks for 2 years and 3 months significantly enriching its flavor and complexity. 

Nose: Sweet and sour notes of tropical fruits like pineapple and mango, gradually revealing a cotton candy-like sweetness in the mid-to-late stages. Palate: Smooth with lively notes of pineapple, sweet grains, and green apple. Finish: Slightly dry with a hint of spiciness, and the finish is of medium length.

Kilchoman Batch Strength is a limited edition release that underscores the distillery's prowess in crafting high-quality whisky without dilution. Matured in a carefully selected combination of re-charred red wine casks, oloroso sherry butts, and bourbon barrels, this expression sees the addition of a few drops of water post-maturation to achieve a robust Batch Strength of 57% ABV.

Designed specifically for the discerning whisky enthusiast, this dram delivers a bold profile, with the elevated alcohol content serving to intensify the complex flavors while skillfully maintaining a balance of sweetness and smokiness. The result is a remarkable whisky that marries Kilchoman's signature natural peat smoke and vibrant citrus character with layers of dark fruits, rich spices, and a delightful salted caramel sweetness. Peat Level in 50 parts per million.

This whisky released in Jan 2023 has been distilled using a combination of their 3 pot stills and aged in re-charred American white oak ex-“Mellowed Kozuru” aged SHOCHU casks. Kanosuke Distillery is located on the picturesque shores of Fukiagehama beach in Kagoshima was established in 2017 and started its operations in 2018. The Whisky Distillery is owned by Komasa Jyozo, one of the Shochu producers in Japan and currently counts Diageo as one its shareholders (via Distill Ventures, Diageo's Drinks Accelerator).

This double oaked Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Woodford Reserve delivers a rich, soft and sweet vanilla and caramel notes balanced with some oak. Matured in charred oak barrels first like the classic Woodford Reserve, this is then finished in a second oak barrel  (new heavily toasted, lightly charred barrel). An awarded Bourbon. The 100% Islay 11th Edition was distilled from 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011 barley (Optic & Publican) harvests before being matured in 26 bourbon barrels and 7 oloroso sherry butts for a minimum of 9 years. This unique Single Farm Single Malt is the only whisky in Scotland to be produced entirely on one farm, from barley to bottle. The barley was then malted onsite and peated using local Islay peat before being distilled, matured and eventually bottled all within the farm distillery’s premises. Limited to 12,000 bottles.

Pōkeno distillery nestled in a warm, misty, humid valley protected by the volcanic hills which from which they source their pure natural spring water and sourced the finest barley from three family-owned farms in New Zealand's richly fertile South Island.

Totara is the indigenous tree that built Aotearoa. From the arrival of Maori, the timber from this tree was used to build waka, homes, carvings, weapons and containers for storing food. After a full maturation in first fill bourbon casks, we have transferred the whisky to the totara barrels for a second maturation period.

Nose: Creamy coconut, sweet-scented sap, ripe white peach, and freshly cut wood. Palate: Bitter lemon, stone fruit, and hints of dark chocolate. Finish: A long and sweet finish, leaving a lasting impression of the Totara influence. (Tasting Note from distillery)

This is the 1st release of Mars The Y.A. which refers to the Yakushima Aging Cellars located on Yakushima Island (A UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Kagoshima, Japan. The Y.A. #01 uses Malt Whisky distilled at the 2 distilleries owned by Hombo Shuzo at its Shinshu Distillery in Nagano & Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima which have been matured in mostly ex-Bourbon Barrels and blending to create a unique expression of fruity aroma. 

This unique expression showcases the complexity of the spirit by blending two different spirits from their 2 owned distilleries matured at a 3rd site. Yakushima Aging Cellar was established in 2016.

Mars Tsunuki distillery is the second distillery of the Hombo Shuzo Group, launched in 2016. This is the 2023 release by the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima (where with a wide range of temperatures and blessed with high quality spring water from the Mt. Kurata mountain), with a release of 35,800 bottles. This is the 4th product release of single malt whisky distilled at Tsunuki (The Second Release of the Annual 'Year Edition').

Matured in the bourbon barrels for about 6 years. Nose: Marmalade jam along with sweet notes of honey, pancake, and a subtle smoke Palate: Citrus fruits, lemon peel and fresh malt Finish: Full-bodied sweetness balanced by a pleasant bitterness.

This bottle snagged a silver medal award in the 2024 Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition. In 2022, the distillery won the "World's Best Blended Malt" at 2022 World Whisky Award and this is their Single Malt release for 2023.

This is a 2023 Edition of their PEATED Single Malt Whisky which has been largely matured in Bourbon barrels.  While most of the Asaka Distillery produces Non-Peated Single Malt, they occasionally release a Peated bottling from time to time as well in limited quantities. Released in Dec 2023, there were only 600 bottles.

Malt cookies, lime-like citrus, mild peat. Palate: Smoke, tidal stimulation, alazan, plum. Finish: Peat lingers until the end, with a well-balanced acidity and sweetness in the middle.

A gold medal award-winning in the 2025 World Whiskies Award, silver medal award-winning in the 2024 Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition. In 2022, the distillery won the World's Best Blended Malt at 2022 World Whisky Award.

Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique Cask Strength is an unique single malt whisky from Taiwan. This older expression is bottled as a limited single cask release (Cask Number: W120607044), with a total of 203 bottles.

Vinho Barrique Cask Strength series was awarded the title of World’s Best Single Malt Whisky in 2015. Fully matured in used American Oak wine barrels, it offers rich and fruity aromas with layers of vanilla, caramel, tropical fruits, and subtle hints of spice and oak. The influence of the wine cask adds a smooth and complex texture with a gentle sweetness. 

Tasting Notes from Distillery: Color: Deep autumn gold. Nose: A rich fusion of vanilla and caramelized sugars. Ripe melon and mango together with kiwi and a delicate blend of citrus fruits burst. Palate: The taste ends with clean and complex flavours embodying all that is best in the finest malt whiskies and a long aftertaste.

Kavalan Solist Vinho is aged in the finest slow grown white oak which is air seasoned for two years. After soaking with some of the world's best wines the casks are hand crafted with a specially developed toasting and charring process in the distillery's own cooperage to bring out the flavours that characterise this fine whisky. Kavalan Solist Vinho is a perfect example of technology and art blended together in perfect harmony.
