This is a special bottling released by the Chichibu Distillery and is a vatting of malt from two distilleries, "Chichibu" and "Komagatake", which has been matured at the Chichibu Distillery in a variety of Bourbon Barrel, American White Oak and Sherry Oak for more than 5 years. In 2015, Venture Whisky (Chichibu) Distillery and Mars Shinshu Distillery began exchanging their new make spirit, which was subsequently matured in their respective locations. 10,200 bottles were released.

Nose: Caramel sweetness, some dusty book shelves and a medley of tropical fruits Palate: Sweet toffee along with tropical fruits including banana and pineapple Finish:  Ends with a salty finish and hints of tropical fruits.

This bottling from Ichiro Akuto has historically included malt from 2 distilleries - Chichibu & from his grandfather's distillery Hanyu.

Honeyed sweet berries with hint of aromatic spices on the nose. On the palate, again honey sweetness at the start, followed by ginger spice, malty and subtle oak.

As its name suggests, Ichiro's Malt Double Single Malts is a vatting of two types of single malt whisky: A Japanese Single Malt Whisky distilled in 2008 and A Scottish Single Malt Whisky distilled in 2007. In the cask in 2008, both whiskies were matured in Japan. Bottled at cask strength ABV of 62%, only 500 bottles were released. This bottle is #332 of 500. A perfect example of the blending skills of Ichiro Akuto, for which he has won several awards globally.

Ichiro’s Malt Hanyu Card Series “Ace of Clubs” is a rare Japanese single malt whisky from the closed Hanyu distillery, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2012.  It was matured in a hogshead and finished in an Mizunara Puncheon (cask no. 9523), with only 503 bottles released, making it a sought-after collector’s item.  It received 90 points on Whiskybase. No box.

Ichiro’s Malt Hanyu Card Series “Five of Diamonds” is a rare Japanese single malt whisky from the closed Hanyu distillery, distilled in 2000 and matured in Hogshead/Sherry Butt before being bottled in 2012. Only 652 bottles were released, making it a sought-after collector's item. Whiskybase 88 Points. No Box.

Ichiro’s Malt Hanyu Card Series “Joker” Colored is a rare Japanese single malt whisky from the closed Hanyu distillery, a vatting of spirits distilled between 1985-2000, matured in a mix of casks, and bottled in 2014. 3,690 bottles were released, making it the final and highly collectible release in the iconic 54-card series. No box.

Ichiro’s Malt Hanyu Card Series “Six of Hearts” is a rare Japanese single malt whisky from the closed Hanyu distillery, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2012.  It was matured in a hogshead and finished in an American oak puncheon (cask no. 405), with only 564 bottles released, making it a sought-after collector’s item.  88 points on Whiskybase. No Box.
