A 12 years old bottling from Highland Park bottled in the 2000s . This classic bottling was one of the favourites of Michael Jackson, the whisky writer (The Malt Whisky Companion). This bottle design was introduced by Edrington in 1999 and used until it was redesigned in 2006.

Matured in mountain oak casks and bottled in 2003, the "Traditional" refers to "malt whisky in its original and most natural form", straight from the wood. Bottled at a high ABV of 57.2%, the "bouquet is robust but distinctly Glenmorangie. The addition of a little water releases a fascinating range of subtle aromas: cloves, vanilla, honey and citrus fruits all entwined with a hint of peat smoke.

The sixth official release from Kilchoman (i.e. one of the earlier bottlings) is a vatting of three year old and four year old whisky from first fill and refill bourbon casks with the four year old finished in sherry casks for about a month. Lots of smoke, iodine, and salty notes with hints of oloroso in the background. A great bottling to taste a Kilchoman from its early days.

Craigellachie, one of the few remaining distilleries to use worm tub condensers produces a spirit with the usual meaty, heavier flavours. Matured exclusively in spanish oloroso sherry butts, this A'bunadh is the Batch 67 release from Aberlour. A'bunadh means "The Original" in Gaelic and is a respectful toast to the founder of Aberlour, James Fleming. Bottled at cask strength, this is an intensely rich sherried whisky. Aroma of spices, pralines, spiced oranges with a palate of black cherries, ginger and dark chocolate. The finish is long and balanced with hints of oak.
Usually a vatting of 5 - 25 year old Whiskies, the A'bunadh range is a highly awarded release from this distillery.

The Batch 1 release of this Special Selection for "The Bothy" series was first matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred for a secondary maturation into smaller American Oak casks called Quarter Casks for a minimum period of 18 months. This greater contact between the whisky and oak results in a much more intense maturation over a shorter period of time. A full bodied Arran with rich vanilla sweetness and bold peppery notes in between alongside fresh fruits and a hint of dark chocolate.
12,000 bottles were released in Sep 2015. A 'bothy' refers to a simple shelter, usually unlocked and available for anyone to use free of charge and generally available as a basic accommodation for gardeners or other workers on an estate.
