The Modern Malt Whisky Market is a very popular annual Whisky Festival held in Tokyo, Japan.

Nose: Very sweet, rich toffee, popcorn kernels and salted caramel Palate: hints of hickory smoke and jerky chicken. Aniseed is then present in the background. Finish: Quite a malty finish then liquorice and burnt sugar come through

Cameronbridge is a pioneering grain whisky distillery established in 1824 by John Haig in Windygates, Fife, Scotland. As the first to produce grain whisky at significant scale, it has remained a cornerstone of Scottish whisky production for nearly two centuries. The distillery underwent comprehensive modernization between 1989 and 1992, resuming operations in 2000 as part of the Diageo portfolio. Only 322 bottle released, showcasing an elegance and complexity that well‑aged grain whisky can achieve—soft, sweet, and surprisingly nuanced.

Tasting note: Nose: Shows early sugar and coffee connotations plus corn oil and fudge. Palate: Incredibly sweet with a ginger prickle vanilla, limes and syrup. Finish: Candyfloss to the fore plus subtle spices, cereals and more sugar.

Beloved by the Committee, this New Release traces the old delicate peat profile note by note and has been bottled at 40%/Chill Filtered. This is the renewed 17 Years Old Ardbeg.

Nose: Fresh and clean , with hints of pine resin, aniseed, sea spray and lavender soap very gentle, very restrained, and rather elegant for an Ardbeg. With water, there is a distinctive, flinty minerality, along with subtle hints of sweet peat smoke, malted barley, and a touch of toasting bread. Palate: A beautiful, creamy texture is followed by a lovely combination of flavours, with aniseed toffee, café latte, fennel and gentle antiseptic soap. Finish: The peat smoke is present, but in a very restrained manner, and leads into a lingering aftertaste with chewy oak, cocoa powder and tar. (Distillery Tasting Notes)

This elegant Speyside single malt displays layers of soft malt, dried fruit, honeyed sweetness, caramelised nuts, and polished oak, followed by a smooth, gently spiced finish. Mature and increasingly difficult to find, it is a fine example of Knockando’s vintage-led style and the distinctive character of the Master Reserve range.

A rare 17-year-old Imperial single malt distilled in 1995, matured in a single cask #50076 and bottled in 2012 by Acorn, Japan's second-oldest independent bottler of Scotch whisky, as part of its Natural Malt Selection. Bottled at a robust 52.3% ABV, this limited independent release offers an opportunity to explore the elegant, fruity and gently waxy character of the now-closed Imperial Distillery.

Imperial Distillery was founded in 1897, but its history was marked by repeated closures and several changes of ownership before it was finally demolished in 2013. Its whisky is now difficult to find and has developed a devoted following for its distinctive floral, cream-soda-like, and gently elegant style. The site was subsequently redeveloped as Dalmunach Distillery, making older Imperial bottlings increasingly collectible.

Blackadder Inchgower 20 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was independently bottled by Blackadder as Raw Cask Statement Edition No. 12 to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary. Distilled in July 1995 and bottled in September 2015 after 20 years in a single sherry butt, it was released at 57.6% ABV (cask strength) without chill filtration or without addition of any colouring. The Raw Cask series also tends to have natural cask sediment since the whisky is not heavily filtered. 582 bottles were produced. Bottle number for reference only.

The sherry maturation adds an old-school depth to Inchgower’s salty, maritime character. Rated highly on Whiskybase at +87.

Tasting Note: Nose: Soft and full-bodied with rich caramel and toffee, complemented by hints of lemon zest and subtle peat smoke. Palate: Lush and smooth, with sweet toffee and vanilla, followed by lemon curd notes and a light, integrated peat smoke. Palate: Robust, with sweet caramel and toffee fruits, balanced by a touch of peat smoke and subtle saltiness in the background.
