Color: Bright gold. Imbued from four varieties of oak. Nose: Bold peat smoke with notes of stewed fruit and warm, toasted vanilla. Port Ellen’s Annual Releases series comprises 17 highly collectible single malts from the silent Islay distillery, released by Diageo within their Special Releases from 2001 to 2017. The fourth release, distilled in 1978 and matured for 25 years, draws from post-closure warehouse stocks after the distillery shuttered in 1983; it was bottled cask-strength in 2004 at 56.2% ABV, with just 5,100 bottles produced. These editions remain highly sought-after among collectors.

An old presentation (released around 2013) bottle of "The Balvenie 30 Year Old", crafted by malt master David Stewart by vatting Whisky matured in traditional and European oak casks. In our opinion this is indeed a masterpiece and showcases the skills of the malt master in creating a beautifully balanced and impressive aged whisky bottled at a higher ABV of 47.3%. Rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelized pear.

This series has been a Gold Medal winner at the 2004 IWSC and the 2013 release won a Gold Outstanding at the IWSC and Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2013.

This bottling has been rated 90+ points on Whiskybase (by over 500 reviewers).  Please note the slight damage on the box.

Nose: Golden black pepper combined with prune syrup, cocoa and subtle hints of vanilla and orange blossom. Appearance: Polished cherry wood. Palate: Crisp oak and orange bitters flood through dark chocolate and cedar wood add a warming spiced finish. (Producer's Tasting notes).

This is the core expression from the Clynelish Distillery (successor to the now-silent Brora and built opposite the original distillery). A very well balanced and enjoyable single malt, which is unpeated/very lighty peated and a flavour profile with characteristic waxy notes. Color: Gold Nose: floral, fresh green fruits like apple and pear followed by waxy honey, some mineral notes and tangerine and vanilla Palate: rich body which delivers more than the stated ABV but easy sip on the palate with slight waxiness, honey sweetness, toffee, orange and some subtle oak Finish: reasonably long with intermittent bitter sweet notes, some oak spices and pepper.

The Sakurao Single Cask 2020 First Fill Marsala Wine Cask #7162 is a limited edition Japanese single malt whisky. Distilled in November 2020 and matured for over 4 years in a first-fill Marsala wine cask, this release has been bottled in celebration of SG60 (Singapore’s 60 years of growth and achievement). Only 262 bottles have been released.

The label features artwork by a Japanese artist portraying a Torii gate, symbolizing the transition from the everyday to the sacred, adding meaningful cultural depth to this collectible release.

It features a rich amber hue, enticing aromas of raisins and strawberries, flavours of dates and oranges, subtle notes of caramel. and a lingering finish with hints of berries and citrus. (Tasting Notes from Distillery)

Closed in 1983, Port Ellen has since become a highly collectible whisky and one with a great fan following. This is the official first annual release in 2001 by Diageo (who happen to own the remaining stock) with 6000 bottles being released.

The Batch 1 release of this Special Selection for "The Bothy" series was first matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred for a secondary maturation into smaller American Oak casks called Quarter Casks for a minimum period of 18 months. This greater contact between the whisky and oak results in a much more intense maturation over a shorter period of time. A full bodied Arran with rich vanilla sweetness and bold peppery notes in between alongside fresh fruits and a hint of dark chocolate.

12,000 bottles were released in Sep 2015. A 'bothy' refers to a simple shelter, usually unlocked and available for anyone to use free of charge and generally available as a basic accommodation for gardeners or other workers on an estate.

The first release in the "Art of Glengoyne" series carries a watercolor painting of the distillery with the snow capped peak of Dumgoyne hill by the Edinburgh based artist David Brogan.  Like all Glengoyne malts, this 10 year old is distilled from air-dried barley without any peat smoke. With a natural bright gold color and a smooth warming palate, this will remind you of green apples, oak and toffee with a hint of almonds and liquorice. A sweet malty finish. Reported to be bottled in around 2004. Initially matured in American White Oak casks, then transferred into ‘pipes’  which previously contained Port for a further period of maturation. Balance of sweetness and dryness, chocolate bitterness, a note of fresh mint with some hints of port and walnut (Tasting Notes from the Distillery). Score 83+ points on Whiskybase (225 votes). A great way to sample some older Glenmorangie.
