The Glenrothes started their whisky production in Speyside in 1879 and this Glenrothes Quantum 40 is matured in a sherry cask for 40 years, and the bottle is designed and blown by master craftsmen of Dartington, a British crystal brand with a long history, and the crown-shaped glass stopper is also handmade.
A perfect bottle for a fantastic whisky indeed. Tasting Notes from the distillery: Soaked red cherries and marzipan. A touch of maple syrup with the fragrance of orange zest and light cinnamon. Then dark chocolate coated almonds with dates, toasted oak and nutmeg on the palate. The finish is rich, sweet and complex with lingering spice.

The Sestante import company, established around the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi (who previously worked for Pinerolo Import well known for its Macallan imports into Italy), usually bottled at ABVs of 40-46% bottlings and cask strength releases from the same casks. Along with Silver Seal (another brand established by him), Mainardi's bottlings are incredibly sought after.

Distilled on 1st September and 19th November 1953, this was Bottled on 11th August 2006 after being matured in First Fill and Refill sherry casks #2600 & #3597.
Nose: Displays aromas of ripe oranges, polished hardwood floors and old leather. Some heathery notes develop along with a touch of menthol and vanilla. Palate: Very fruity, juicy ripe oranges along with dark chocolate, toasted malt and a developing edge. Finish: Smooth and long finish with a menthol note remaining.

Hand signed by the Distillery Manager, Michael Heads (P.S. though in this bottle the signature has been worn off on the label). Please note there is NO BOX available and the label printing has been worn off as per image.
