It was specially selected by Number One Drinks for Speciality Drinks (which operates Whisky Exchange). Nose: Spices such as cloves balanced by some savoury notes, some oriental sandalwood, cedar/polished oak and some earthy tones and dark leather. Palate: Rich and thick with plum syrup, raisins and cloves, black cherries, coffee beans, ginger, toffee and dark cocoa bars. Some tobacco, liquorice and wood spices, some aniseed and nutmeg. Finish: Savoury, earthy and long. Hint of pepper and spices with plenty of sweet oak and coffee. A delicious whisky which is extremely rare to find.

This is quite a different Macallan than the usual heavy sherry bottlings and instead has a very clean, fruity with some phenolic/subtle smoke notes and surprisingly youthful for such an aged malt.
