“Kanpou” means Sweet Treasure. This Shochu is a “Koshu Genshu”, which means matured (for more than 3 years in tank and bottled at Cask Strength without any dilution. Typically the tank is topped up with new genshu every year and hence you can feel the harmony of the full taste of its rich aroma. The Key Ingredients are Kogane Sengan (Sweet Potato), Rice Koji (Black). A very nice velvety mouthfeel with intense sweet potato fruity flavours making it a perfect drink to enjoy on the rocks!

Launched in 1916 by founder Yoshisuke Enatsu, Black Kirishima marks the beginning of Kirishima Distillery's history. In 1998, the distillery revived the flavor of traditional black koji shochu using advanced techniques, resulting in the natural sweetness of Black Kirishima.

This century-old classic combines carefully selected "Kin Gin" sweet potatoes (黄金千貫) from southern Kyushu and pure natural water from the Kirishima fissure, creating a rich, smooth, and refreshing shochu with a clean finish.

This shochu is made from 100% Koganesengan sweet potatoes sourced from Minamisatsuma. Crafted by Master Distiller Kurose, it revives the traditional use of black koji mold, which was popular in shochu production until the mid-Shōwa era. The result is a refined spirit with a gentle aroma and elegant flavor, best enjoyed with water or on the rocks.
