Ichiro's Malt Chichibu "On The Way" 2019 Japanese Single Malt Whisky

Bottled in 2019. 11,000 Bottles were released. "On The Way" releases of Chichibu are meant to capture the progress of the Distillery as they head towards their first 10 years old Single Malt release in 2020 (a major milestone for the young but very popular distillery). Chichibu first started making whisky in 2008. A vating of 52 casks, all matured for between five and ten years and primarily first-fill ex-bourbon, a few second-fill chibidaru casks and some hogsheads with mizunara (Japanese oak) heads and some peated whisky. A lot of fresh fruits, green apples, ripe grapes, pineapples with coconut cream and hint of subtle earthiness. Bottle number in image for reference only.
