A 12 years old bottling from Highland Park bottled during the 1990s in a dumpy styled bottle and a paper label. A rare bottle to find. This old bottling is a unique balance of subtle smokiness and heather-honey sweetness. Whisky writer Michael Jackson had commented about these old Highland Park 12 year olds as 'The greatest all-rounder in the world of malt whisky'. This has been bottled at 43%.
Made from the finest malted barley; dried over peat fires; steeped in the Island's prue spring waters and aged in oak cask for 12 long years and more.

First distilled in 1973, Longrow is the double distilled, heavily peated style Single Malt from the Springbank Distillery. This Longrow 21 years is a limited edition, reportedly matured in 60% of sherry cask and 40% of bourbon cask, bottled in 2019 with 3600 bottles released.
Nose: A sweet yet meaty dram there are aromas of glazed cherries and cured salty meats. Stewed dark plummy notes and chewy black wine gums. Maple syrup and crispy bacon with a medicinal influence from the robust peat smoke. It seems brighter on the nose with a touch of zesty orange peel. Palate: Sweet, smoky and waxy with a twist of citrus. Caramel shortbread with marzipan, lemon zest and a dusting of icing sugar. Waxy crayons and rich dried fruits with a touch of clove spiciness. Nose: sweet fruits, vanilla, oak with smoke and maritime notes Palate: very creamy and oily mouth feel with grapefruits, passion fruit, caramel and more red fruits Finish: wonderful balance of salty smoke and subtle sweetness of some dark fruits perhaps coming from the refill sherry cask with a dry and long finish.

This Tour is operated in conjunction with our partner in Japan TABITTO Travel Kagoshima over ZOOM.
Kagoshima is located in the most southern part of Japan mainland and is well known as the heartland of Japanese Shochu, a traditional local spirit. It may come as a surprise that Japanese Shochu consumption within Japan far exceeds that of Sake. There are 114 Shochu distilleries and more than 2000 brands of Shochu in Kagoshima. Meijigura, located at the southern tip of Kagoshima is a very historical distillery operated by one of the largest producers of Shochu Satsuma Shuzo.
This is a virtual tour of the distillery, where you can experience a walk around inside the Shochu distillery along with your guide, Miki, a state-licensed guide and a certified Shochu navigator. She along with a craftsman of the distillery will show you around and explain the traditional production methods and the culture of Shochu. Yoshie Kakimoto, the moderator of the tour is a Shochu Meister and will moderate and support through the tour.
At the end of the tour, the craftsman shows you a unique liquor set for Shochu and tells you how to use it. In addition, you will learn how to enjoy Shochu in various kinds of ways at home. In case you have your own Shochu bottle, some soda/sparkling water and ice, you may enjoy your Shochu while experiencing this distillery tour.
NOTE: In the event of any technical/connectivity problems at the organizers' end, which does not allow the event to be held, it may be rescheduled to a later date. We shall not be able to reschedule in case the connectivity/technical problems occur at your end.
