Fresh citrus and stewed fruits. Very crisp, fresh and enjoyable and a great entry to the aged whiskies from this distillery located in Sendai in Northern Japan. Sadly discontinued and a rarity. This bottling (estimated from around 2000s) label spells "Miyagikyou" on its label and is an earlier version of the 10 Year Old bottling with "Miyagikyo" on its label.

This is the general release (hence called Untamed Release) of 2011 Ardbeg Committee Release - Alligator - named such due to the high level of char of the virgin American White Oak casks used for maturation, which makes the inside of the cask surface look like an alligator skin.
Color: Gold Nose: Smoked root ginger and barbeque sauce with chocolate, cumin and warm oak shavings in the background Palate: Hot and spicy, smoked and charred with a leathery and sooty mouth feel. This Bruichladdich 25 years is a very special edition originally released for the Travel Retail market. An unpeated Islay Single Malt whisky with complex maturation (executed in collaboration with winemaker Jan Pettersen) which includes Oloroso Sherry and PX (Pedro Ximinez) Sherry Casks. Finding a Bruichladdich matured in Sherry Casks is quite unusual since the new make is fairly delicate and floral and the folks at Bruichladdich are extra careful that the maturation in Sherry Casks should not overpower these distillery characteristics.
