Named after a town on the east coast of India (called Portonova, located on the east coast of India in the Southern State of Tamil Nadu and was co-incidentally also under Portugese control between the 16th and 18th century), this un-peated single malt whisky has been matured in new American oak and ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to once-used port pipes especially imported from Portugal and finally back to ex-bourbon casks. Nose: Fruity sweetness and caramel, burnt apple pie Palate: Spicy and fruity flavor mixed with caramel and oaky saltiness. Finish: Long and fruity with hints of berry fruits.

Ardbeg 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the peatiest and most complex whiskies globally. It balances intense peat with the natural sweetness of malt. Awarded World Whisky of the Year in 2008, it has a light gold color and aromas of smoky fruit, zesty lemon and lime, and waxy dark chocolate. On the palate, it offers crackling peat, tangy citrus, black pepper, and cinnamon-spiced toffee, alongside briny notes of buttermilk, ripe bananas, and currants. The finish is long and rich, featuring dry espresso, liquorice root, and tarry smoke.

Released between 2001 and 2004, the 1977 vintage is a rare old bottling from Ardbeg. This particular bottle, we believe was released in 2001. A full bodied perfect balance of sweetness, fruit and intense smoky aromas with hints of toffee and fudge followed by mandarin fruit.

This is the general release (hence called Untamed Release) of 2011 Ardbeg Committee Release - Alligator - named such due to the high level of char of the virgin American White Oak casks used for maturation, which makes the inside of the cask surface look like an alligator skin. 

Color: Gold Nose: Smoked root ginger and barbeque sauce with chocolate, cumin and warm oak shavings in the background Palate: Hot and spicy, smoked and charred with a leathery and sooty mouth feel. One of 2012's most hotly-anticipated releases, Ardbeg Galileo is made up from casks distilled in 1999, some of which spent their full term of maturation in casks that previously held Marsala wine, imparting sweet tropical fruit flavours to the mix. Galileo's concept celebrates the well-publicised experiment whereby small quantities of Ardbeg were sent into space at the end of 2011 to see how they mature in zero gravity.

About 15,000 bottles were reportedly released at an ABV of 49%.

"Tamashii" is Soul  or Spirit in Japanese. Bottled by Mizunara for its 4th anniversary, matured in refill bourbon barrel. Subtle peat smoke, charcoal ash & earthy notes combined with sweet vanilla, honey, citrus and fresh tropical fruits like banana. Vanilla sweetness combined with a saltiness that finally gives way to peppery notes and spices such as cloves and hints of dark chocolate. Nice long and complex finish.

A limited release of 251 bottles worldwide with the label designed by a Japanese artist Kenro Shinchi. WhiskyFun rated 85 points (SGP 564) Extract "Mouth (neat): it’s really good, I’d almost call this ‘good thin peat’. Limoncello, oysters, ashes, riesling, mercurochrome ...With water: same, while the body got bigger rather than thinner once water’s been added. Comments: very good for sure, just rather ‘hesitating’."

The Batch 1 release of this Special Selection for "The Bothy" series was first matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred for a secondary maturation into smaller American Oak casks called Quarter Casks for a minimum period of 18 months. This greater contact between the whisky and oak results in a much more intense maturation over a shorter period of time. A full bodied Arran with rich vanilla sweetness and bold peppery notes in between alongside fresh fruits and a hint of dark chocolate.

12,000 bottles were released in Sep 2015. A 'bothy' refers to a simple shelter, usually unlocked and available for anyone to use free of charge and generally available as a basic accommodation for gardeners or other workers on an estate.

A natural cask strength whisky matured in a Sherry Hogshead, this is the first Private Cask Bottling for Mizunara Hong Kong. A great balance between the sherry flavours from the cask while showcasing the Arran spirit even after 15 long years. Rich raisins, apricots combined with malty cereals and a long complex finish.
