This limited release has been matured for 13 years in a combination of bourbon barrels, octaves and calvados casks. It exudes an abundance of juicy fresh fruits, intense sweetness and waves of Islay maritime peat smoke.

According to the founder of Kilchoman, Anthony Wills “..... I’m excited to announce the release of another age statement Kilchoman: the 13-year-old.

The ex-Bourbon casks make up a large part of the vatting, lending that unmistakable Kilchoman character, while the addition of Calvados casks, which may surprise a few people, infuses vibrant green apple and fresh fruit notes into the mix."

Tasting Note: Nose: Fragrant and delicate with bursting notes of fresh pineapple, hibiscus and lemon sherbets. Palate: Herbaceous with undertones of dried apple granola, caramelised puffed wheat and buttered popcorn. Finish: Light and graceful with reminiscence of orchard fruits and zesty freshness. Tasting Note: Nose: Soft with a peppery spice, rich sherry sweetness, and a hint of salty, briny notes. Palate: Rounded and rich in character, with a peppery kick, sherry soaked dark fruits, and a gentle smokiness bringing a savoury, briny character. Mars Tsunuki distillery is the second distillery of the Hombo Shuzo Group, launched in 2016. This is the 2023 release by the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima (where with a wide range of temperatures and blessed with high quality spring water from the Mt. Kurata mountain), with a release of 35,800 bottles. This is the 4th product release of single malt whisky distilled at Tsunuki (The Second Release of the Annual 'Year Edition').

Matured in the bourbon barrels for about 6 years. Nose: Marmalade jam along with sweet notes of honey, pancake, and a subtle smoke Palate: Citrus fruits, lemon peel and fresh malt Finish: Full-bodied sweetness balanced by a pleasant bitterness.

With a burnished copper hue and aroma of honey, spices, hazelnut and raisins, the palate is rich in creamy malt, toasted oak, chocolates and honeycomb with a lingering finish of nutmeg and crystallized ginger. A limited release of about 3500 bottles in 2019.

The Y.A. #01 uses Malt Whisky distilled at the 2 distilleries owned by Hombo Shuzo at its Shinshu Distillery in Nagano & Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima which have been matured in mostly ex-Bourbon Barrels and blending to create a unique expression of fruity aroma. 

This unique expression showcases the complexity of the spirit by blending two different spirits from their 2 owned distilleries matured at a 3rd site. Yakushima Aging Cellar was established in 2016.
