信州マルス＆ツヌキ ジャパニーズウイスキー

信州マルス蒸留所は、1985年に長野県宮田村の標高798メートルの高地に開設されました。夏の湿度が適度で、水質も良好という、ウイスキー造りに最適な立地です。

1990年、日本経済は停滞し、ウイスキーの需要は劇的に落ち込みました。この業界では比較的若いマルス社は、1992年に生産を停止しました。しかし、2007年までにウイスキー市場は回復し始め、信州マルス社は20年近くの休止期間を経て、2011年に生産を再開しました。

Mars Iwai Tradition Wine Cask Blended Japanese Whisky. Produced by Hombo Shuzo, which also has a winery in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan. This Whisky has been finished in their own Chateau Mars red wine barrels for more than a year. This is an older bottling from 2013 bottled at 40% ABV and about 2,495 bottles were released.

The *Mars Malus Maltage Cosmo* series has been unveiling a limited edition product each year since 2019. This blended malt whisky is produced by *Hombo Shuzo*, which also operates a winery in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The ruby red color reflects the influence of the wine cask, delivering a fruity and spicy palate, along with pleasantly lingering tannins in the finish. This is a limited release from 2020.
