Distillery Tour & Tastings

We’re delighted to announce that our second tasting event for Kilchoman whisky with Peter Wills, will take place over ZOOM on Thursday the 1st April at 8:00pm. This time we will not only feature 6 x Kilchoman Whiskies along with Peter Wills (son of the founder, Anthony Wills) but will also include a chocolate tasting/pairing experience with 2 bars designed to match Kilchoman Whisky. 

Option 1: A 30ml tasting set of 6 different Kilchoman whiskies (Machir Bay, Sanaig, Fino Sherry Cask 2020, Am Burach 2020 (Port Cask Vatting), Sado The Host Madeira Cask Finish - Mizunara Private Cask, Sado The Guest PX cask Finished - Mizunara Private Cask) showcasing a variety of cask maturation/finishes. HKD 590 including HK Delivery.

 Option 2: The 30 ml x 6 Whisky set as mentioned in Option1 + Two bars (80g/each) of Chocolate from Kilchoman: 1 Bar of Atlantic Sea Salt & Lime Milk Chocolate and 1 Bar of Haggis Spice  Dark  Chocolate. This Option also includes a complimentary HK$50 Voucher toward any Kilchoman purchase at our Wong Chuk Hang Store, valid between April 1st - April 30th. HKD 690 including HK Delivery. 1. A "Live Virtual Tour" of Hamada Syuzou Distillery, Kagoshima Japan on ZOOM (Tickets available worldwide HK$ 125. Please select the "Virtual Tour ONLY" option in case you are located outside HK or you do not need the Tasting Pack)

2. The Virtual Tour will be followed by a tasting of Daiyame Sweet Potato Shochu of which a 900 ml bottle in included in this option (Tickets including Tour + Tasting Pack available in HK only. HK$ 275 including free delivery in HK. Please select "Tasting Pack & Virtual Tour" Option)

This Virtual Tour & Tasting is being organized in conjunction with TABITTO Travel Kagoshima. Their guide, Maya Aley, an American Shochu Specialist living in Kagoshima for 9 years, will walk you through the Shochu distillery and show the Shochu making process live during the experience. Maya is the only native English speaker to complete the Kagoshima Prefecture Shochu Maker’s Guild “Shochu Meister” Program through Kagoshima University, and is certified in shochu by both the SSI in Japan and the SSA in the US. She also works at a shochu bar in downtown Kagoshima. Yoshie Kakimoto of TABITTO, the moderator of the tour is also a Shochu Meister. She will  moderate and support through out the tour.

At the end of the tour, you will learn how to drink Shochu at home. Prepare your bottle, soda and water or any your favorite juice to enjoy!

Ms Yumi Yoshikawa, Global brand ambassador of Chichibu will walk you through the distillery. Also taste 3 of their Whiskies during the Tour. This is a unique opportunity to visit the distillery from the comfort of your living room at home and enjoy a "visit" to Japan. The Virtual Tour/Tasting will be conducted on Zoom and will be managed by Mizunara.

This Virtual Tour & Tasting is being organized in conjunction with TABITTO Travel Kagoshima. Kusano San, The Master Distiller and Tsuchiya San, the Distillery Manager of the Mars Distillery + Ms. Maya Aley, a Spirits Specialist living in Kagoshima for 9 years and fluent in Japanese and English, will walk you through the distillery and show the making process live. At the end of the Tour, taste 3 of their Whiskies along with the Tour Guides. This is a unique opportunity to visit the distillery from the comfort of your living room at home and enjoy a "visit" to Japan. The Virtual Tour/Tasting will be conducted on Zoom and will be co-ordinated by Mizunara x TABITTO.
