1996年に設立されたジョン・ディスティラリーズは、南インドのバンガロールに本社を置いています。当初はブレンデッドウイスキーの製造に注力していましたが、2008年にインド西部のムンバイ近郊のゴア州でシングルモルトウイスキーを製造することを決定しました。熱帯モンスーン気候は熟成期間の短縮に役立ち、年間8～10%という高いエンジェルシェアも実現しています。インド産の6条大麦を使用し、ゴア州にある2つの倉庫で、チャードしたアメリカンホワイトオーク樽を含む様々な樽で熟成されています。

Nose: A light citrus with manuka honey arrives early; an intense malt is infused with ripe peach, apricot and vanilla. Palate: Superb mouthfeel of rich creaminess. The oak delivers a soft, sweet, delectable butterscotch. Finish: Warm spices suffuse the toasted oak, and the slightest of saltiness ensures the friendliest of finishes. Unpeated and non chill-filtered, the Mithuna has been matured in American virgin oak casks and finished in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at an impressive 58% ABV.
