バランタイン

その歴史は1827年、農家の息子ジョージ・バランタインがエディンバラに食料品店を開いたことに遡ります。1865年頃（食料品店事業のグラスゴー進出と同時期に）、このブレンデッドウイスキーブランドは同名で立ち上げられ、主に自社の食料品店で販売されました。 1895年頃、ジョージ・バランタイン＆サン社はヴィクトリア女王から王室御用達の称号を授与されました。その後、1910年にバランタイン・ファイネストが発売され、最終的にブランドのフラッグシップブレンドとなりました。 ミルトンダフとグレンバーギーは、現在もバランタイン製品群を代表するモルトウイスキーであり、バランタインは現在、ペルノ・リカールのシーバス・ブラザーズ傘下にあります。
