アイラ島南岸に位置するアードベッグ蒸留所は、1815年にマクドゥーガル家によって設立されました。1981年から1989年、そして1996年から1997年にかけて、二度の沈黙期間を経験しました。幸いにも、1997年にグレンモーレンジィ社に買収されました。しかし、2004年には、アードベッグとグレンモーレンジィの両社がフランスのファッションブランド兼飲料グループであるルイ・ヴィトン・モエ・ヘネシー（LVMH）に買収されました。2018年2月、アードベッグは生産能力を倍増させました。主力製品のほとんどはノンエイジングですが、時折、熟成させたボトリングをリリースすることもあります。
