アムルート

1948年にアムルット・ラボラトリーズという名前で設立されたアムルットは、サンスクリット語で「生命の蜜」または「神の飲み物」を意味します。1982年、ニーラカンタ・ラオ・ジャグデールの指揮の下、インドのほとんどの蒸留所がまだ主に糖蜜を使ってウイスキーを製造していた時代に、大麦と麦芽をブレンドしたウイスキーの製造を開始しました。アムルットという名のシングルモルトは、2004年にスコットランドのエディンバラでデビューしました。アムルットは、熱帯サバンナ気候のインド・バンガロールにある本社蒸留所でシングルモルトを製造しています。バンガロールは熱帯サバンナ気候のため、熟成期間が短いものの、エンジェルシェアは年間約10～11%と非常に高いです。アムルットが使用する大麦の大部分はインドのハリヤーナー州、パンジャブ州、ラジャスタン州で栽培されていますが、一部の製品には輸入大麦も使用しています。

Named after a town on the east coast of India, this un-peated single malt whisky was matured in new American oak and ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to once-used port pipes especially imported from Portugal and finally back to ex-bourbon casks. Nose: Fruity sweetness and caramel, burnt apple pie, and over-oaked soup. Palate: Spicy and fruity flavor mixed with caramel and oaky saltiness. Finish: Long and fruity with hints of berry fruits.

Living up to its name, Amrut Kadhambam was matured in three different cask types - Rum, Sherry, and Brandy, which gives it the aroma and notes of these three barrels. Nose: Rich and floral, honeyed, nutty, new oak, vanilla, tropical fruity aromas Palate: Candied fruits, subtle oak with a light dusting of peat and integrated spice Finish: Warm and complex with a dry and long finish (Tasting Notes from the distillery).
