Nose: Layers of orange zest, heather honey, cinnamon, butterscotch and sticky raisins, with notes of mocha lingering in the background. Taste: Bursts of orange zest, heather honey and damsons, followed by lashings of mocha, dark chocolate, cinnamon, figs and dates. Matured in a carefully selected combination of re-charred red wine casks, oloroso sherry butts, and bourbon barrels, this expression sees the addition of a few drops of water post-maturation to achieve a robust Batch Strength of 57% ABV.

Designed specifically for the discerning whisky enthusiast, this dram delivers a bold profile, with the elevated alcohol content serving to intensify the complex flavors while skillfully maintaining a balance of sweetness and smokiness. The result is a remarkable whisky that marries Kilchoman's signature natural peat smoke and vibrant citrus character with layers of dark fruits, rich spices, and a delightful salted caramel sweetness. Peat Level in 50 parts per million.

A limited release for 2022, the Kilchoman Casado (Portuguese for marriage) is matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before 38 casks were married together for 2 years in two 6,000 litre Portuguese red wine vats. 

Nose: Smoke comes first and balanced with ripe stone fruits: peach, plum and cherry. Palate: Pepper and spice at first taste. Dry, salty peat smoke with apricot and lemon. Finish: Long finish with spices, the cooked fruit notes bring a sweet-jam balanced with Kilchoman smoke.

"Tamashii" is Soul  or Spirit in Japanese. Bottled by Mizunara for its 4th anniversary, matured in refill bourbon barrel. Subtle peat smoke, charcoal ash & earthy notes combined with sweet vanilla, honey, citrus and fresh tropical fruits like banana. Vanilla sweetness combined with a saltiness that finally gives way to peppery notes and spices such as cloves and hints of dark chocolate. Nice long and complex finish.

A limited release of 251 bottles worldwide with the label designed by a Japanese artist Kenro Shinchi. WhiskyFun rated 85 points (SGP 564) Extract "Mouth (neat): it’s really good, I’d almost call this ‘good thin peat’. Limoncello, oysters, ashes, riesling, mercurochrome ...With water: same, while the body got bigger rather than thinner once water’s been added. Comments: very good for sure, just rather ‘hesitating’."

Mortlach's unique and precise 2.81 times distillation technique which is 0.81 more than the usual Scotch standard has also given it the reputation as the "Beast of Dufftown". Intense, rich and spicy with hints of clove, nutmeg and dark berries leading to a lingering, surprisingly sweet yet dry finish (Tasting Notes from the Producer).

Oban Distillers Edition releases have won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2008 and 2011. It also won International Wine and Spirit Competition Gold in 2002 and 2010 (Best in Class). In 2020, it won a third Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
