Each year, the Distillery Manager at Laphroaig (John Campbell in this case) handcrafts a limited edition for the "Friends of Laphroaig" to celebrate friendship ("Cairdeas" in Gaelic). This bottling was distilled throughout 2001 and aged in first fill ex-bourbon barrels yielding an intense vanilla flavour and subtle spice to this whisky. Bottled in 2017.
