This Komagatake Single Malt is produced at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, located at the foothills of Mt. Komagatake in the Central Alps mountain range. In 2011, the Mars Shinshu Distillery resumed operations for the first time in 19 years.
The "2023 Edition" is a vatting of unpeated malt in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and port cask aged whiskies. Non-Chill Filtered.
Nose: Apricot, orange peel, and some tropical fruits such as banana followed by some black tea at the back Palate: Some dried plums along with maple candied hazelnuts and some ripened persimmon Finish: A lingering nutty finish with some oak spices.
